What do you think of canopies over a crib or child's bed?

I think they're a safety hazard when they're younger, if they can be reached. When I wouldn't hesitate to put one over Brinlee's bed now though, and we're considering these from Pottery Barn Kids if we redo her room next year.

Yeah, the safety concern is a good point.

I do think it's precious over a crib for the first 5-6 months - before a baby is sitting/standing up and reaching. And then, yes, for a much older girl is adorable too.

I have one of those from Ikea that I'm kinda thinking about using for over the pack n play, that's where baby will sleep. I'm considering it only b/c I have a cat and I'm not sure if she'll jump in there when baby is sleeping. I live in a studio apartment so closing the door to babys room isn't an option.

I think they are really cute over an older childs bed. I would never trust one over a crib or younger childs bed - I would worry about them getting tangled in it.
