I knew before I even got pregnant what bedding I was going to get if I had a girl... I loved it! Surprisingly, just a month or so later I was pregnant!! I purchased the bedding right after we found out I was having a girl... so about 5 months. We purchased the crib when I was 6 months pregnant, then fully decorated the room.... I don't think there is a specific "right time" to decorate the nursery, just whenever you feel like it! Some people decorate in a unisex theme pretty early... no big deal, do it when you want... not when people say you should!
I think I started at about 21 weeks. I had an ultrasound by this point and they said they were sure it was a girl so I felt safe to go ahead and decorate.
ha we aren't even pregnant yet and i can't stop thinking of how i would decorate. we've already started shopping for stuff... not buying but getting ready. we know our themes and so on
however i can't tel you what might happen when hormones hit!!

With my first I went with a unisex theme, so I started at 3 months along....with this one, we waited to find out the sex, so about 5 months is when I started decorating, but the planning (sketching and so on) started as soon as I found out I was pregnant.
I waited untill after my baby shower, because so many of the things were on my registry. After that, I started on it. Since that was only two weeks ago, I still am working on it.
The paint was done a while ago though, like back in late may.

We are done TTC. Praying for peace as we accept this...
Hoping for some comfort after our most recent (and 3rd) surgery and starting Lupron!
I started when I was 5.5 months with my daughter that was stillborn - and then took it down and put it away -- I started early with Benjamin - like 3 months but that was becuase I had lots of it
I'm picking fabric now, because it can take a couple months to get it in (ordering wholesale). I plan on making everything, so I figure by the time the fabric arrives, I'll know what I'm having, and can get started. Any excess fabric I'll use with my business, or just resell for a profit. Win-Win for me.
DH will probably start installing the French doors on the sitting room before long too, so that it won't hold us up from painting and such when the time comes.
I also wanted to start right away....but I wanted a gender specific room, so I waited until after the U/S. However, we did start buying furniture and what not right away (well as soon as we could afford it anyhow).
I'm 31 weeks and havent started yet... wont be able to start till after she comes b/c we are moving.

He takes her from the home she knows to lands of which are new. Survival is an unknown place, becomes her test of truth. Her burdens of many and his tanks sometimes are small. She keeps her faith through thick and thin and makes the best of all. She lives with some uncertainty, knows not what dawn may bring, but he knows nothing stops his girl from doing anything. Whether star or stripe or bar adorns his collar or his strife, nothing means more to a soldier than the one he calls his wife.
I painted her room when I was less than 2 months pregnant! I'm a teacher so I had the summer off and knew it would be the only time I'd have enough time to do it. I knew I wanted the same theme whether she was a boy or girl!

I am hoping to start decorating after I find out the sex. A part of me wants to go ahead and pick out bedding and colors... I may want a neutral color and then add touches of the sex later... I don't know if we'll have another child after this... so the other part of me wants to wait for the sex and decorate with pink/lavendar or blue/red
We did most of it back when I was around 4 months. I didn't see any reason to wait and I wanted to make sure it was done! Since then I've been working on little touches, but at the time I had lots of energy and was the same size I always was....why wait???
I'm 26 weeks and just about to get started on my little girl's room! I would have probably started as soon as we found out the gender (20 weeks) but the room that is going to be her room was still our room. Now our room is done so we can start on her room! I'm so excited!
