So I don't like the traditional pink for a girl, blue for a boy.
I'm trying to stay so far away from that it's not even funny.
If it's a girl, I want purple. If it's a boy, green.
I'll eventually call my aunt in to decorate the nursery since she's good at that and I am definitely not.
But my goodness. I don't know how it's going to work out. I don't like flowers or butterflies (I'm actually afraid of them), and that seems to be the typical theme for girl bedding and decoration.
If it's a boy...I actually saw this awesome bedding, I think someone posted it on here, but it had stars and it was yellow and black. Oh it was so cool! So either something like that or maybe a jungle theme.
i saw somewhere the couple did an alice-in-wonderland for their daughter: painted the weird trees on the wall, got the character stuffed animals, the bedding was the card patterns, they got little roses for the dresser knobs.. plus, purple would work with that. it's not too girly, and she could grow into it when she's a toddler.
I have no theme, just grabbing what I like. Like for, I'm currently looking for green bedding for the crib, I think it will look the best, and Im having a girl....if your shooting for a theme maybe pretty tropical birds?
This is an older thread but I wanted to throw this out there... our little girl will have a Nikola Tesla nursery. We found a poster someone had made for a dieselpunk comic featuring Tesla that was red, teal, light and dark brown and based the colors off of that. We're going to have prints of his patents framed and hung up along with the poster, and her nightlight is going to be a small plasma ball.
My DF is obsessed with Nikola Tesla, and I wanted a very gender neutral nursery no matter what sex our baby was. The other choice was a space nursery with a heavy Carl Sagan influence.
Ry, happily engaged to Zach.
