My husband has been allowed one thing to do for sure with this baby with no input from me. I stupidly allowed him to choose the babys bedding and the way her room will look. He has found a mossy oak break up set with a creme camoflauge ruffle. Has anyone ever seen this done? I have seen it for boys but not for girls. He is planning to leave the walls white and use a camo border. Being from Arkansas he will not allow me to use Army camo bc he is a hunter he wants hunting camo. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I am going to do the light switch covers and outlet covers with the camo tape as well to give some accents to the white walls. I am also looking for a camo lamp.

Oh boy. I feel sorry for you. No offense but I would NEVER allow that. No matter what I said in the beginning. When I have a little girl, I decide her stuff. I want it to be 1000000% girl.

I would consider talking it through with him. If it's important to you, he should care.

My hubby wants to do that if we have a boy, but I am thinking little ducky theme. He is mainly a duck hunter so thats related..

For you, how about looking for some cammo stuff with pink trim, or if you can sew add a little pink trim or ruffles to things that you buy.

What kind of hunter is he? What does he mainly hunt? That'll help me come up with more ideas.... good luck!

If he is 100% sure this is what he wants to use..... maybe you can accent it with pinks (different shades) to make it more girly. Good luck, I hope it turns out beautiful!

Oh my - Are we married to the same man????? DH swears he's buying camo bedding and all for her room, but i refuse. I told him that it would be perfectly fine for a boy, but she's a girl, and she's not having a camo bedroom! So - he has settled for dressing her in camo often. Lord help us!

Are you sure he wont go for pink camo? I had pursuaded DH to do that, but luckily i could only find one seller on ebay with it, and it was more than we were willing to spend. THANK GOD!

Hey I dont post in here but I saw this post and had to see what it was about! I think it is GREAT!!!! I LOVE camo.....only the hunting kind though. I have a girl but I would have done it in her room if I could of found the bed stuff I put my DD in camo clothes all the time! You can still make her room look girly even being camo you just gotta be creative, ill keep think of stuff. I think it is a really cute idea.

Lol, wow, that's a toughie! That would be hard for me because i'm the decorator in the family for EVERY room, although he gets his say, and sometimes I agree with him, I usually make the final choices, lol. He always ends up loving it so he doesn't mind!
I vote for the pink camo also but if he's determined for her to have the other... it would really help to see a pic of the bedding if you have one.
At this point all I can think of is maybe a tree mural with some pretty birds in it or something. Or you could buy some leaf garland (they have it at Michaels) and string it around the doorways and add some pretty girl colored flowers here & there in it.
There has to be a way to add some pink in there, pinks and greens go well together so pink accents would look cute I think...

I just stumbled on this and I thought it was a cute idea! I think it would look great with an awesome mural and the flowers like suggested! You really could make it look girly. How about painting the walls a light shade of pink of cream color instead of white that would warm it up and would be a cheap fixer. After seeing the pink camo bedding, Im totally sold on it, it is very cute. I bet I know what you are talking about though with the green and cream colored ruffles. Is it from Bass Pro? We live right outside of Springfield so we go there all the time. I am married to a hunter too, lol! Luckily he would never pick that for a girl, he's pretty traditional, but I totally see how you could make it girly! Good luck and be sure to post pics...

Does it look like this? I think it's cute and totally do-able. I also think it's pretty sweet of you to let him pick it out! -

I really think that your little girl will have a gorgeous room. I personally would never have considered using the camo and when I first read it I cringed but reading some of the suggestions I really think that you can make an absolutly gorgeous and ORIGINAL room!!!

If there are a few things you are REALLY unhappy about though see if you can come up with a compromise with your Husband to maybe introduce alot more pink or minimise the camo but make sure you still intorduce it with accents and such?

Goodluck I'm sure you'll do a great job!

That is the exact set he has picked out. He refuses to use the army camo. He is a deer hunter and says it is hypocritcal of him to even allow me to think that way. It does have the cream ruffles so i am thinking i am going to use either a cream color paint or even a pale pink so i have the pink already there when i get the opportunity to change it. He also has bought her several outfits int he camo.

Do you ladies think that a pale pink will look ok with that bedding? We havent bought her bed yet i was actually thinking of using a pale colored crib so that it isnt too dark in her room.

I think a pale crib would really help lighten it up and I think it would go great with pale pink walls. We will have the little camo outfits at our house too

How pale a pink were you thinking of doing ??? I think you would need to do a noticable pink colour to go with that really dark camo. You could always add a pink frill around the cot to make it more girly as well.

Do you think a darker pink would actually work. I have a gallon of pink that is actually a little darker than the JM board colors. It is called something or other Chile. It is dark but i didnt think it would work with the camo.

Wait don't paint pink! what about making it very soft and comfy? What about tans and creams and chocolates? I would use a really nice color of tan/carmel on the walls. Then use Chocolate colored lamp with a cream shade. Paint the Ceiling! Paint it cream too! You can do pretty cream curtians and use some ribbon with chocolate and that green in it. I would get a natural maple colored wood if you can. Maybe place a natural maple colored wood shelf on the wall too. You can add cute little stuffed squirrels or deer. And how cool if you could find antler style coat hook things to place on the wall? (like three on a board)

Those are pretty neat ideas. I am trying to avoid creams and browns bc of every other room in my house being those colors. My boys want a camo room so i have my DH working on it right now and keeping him out of her room until i can get some pink stuff in there. I think camo is just too much for me right now.
