DH and I are in the process of moving our "office" down to the basement so we can make it a nursery.. Next week we should be able to clear it out and paint it.. I am usually the painter in the family.. i love painting! Dh thinks its tedious and boring... I am wondering if its okay for me to paint the nursery? It wouldn't be oil-based or anything just water..
You're ok to paint if you use acrylic latex. Just the oils and enamels are unsafe. I paint murals and I painted throughout my whole pregnancy. I did a lot of research on this before I was even pregnant also because I paint for a lot of pregnant women so I wanted to know. Just make sure you use some ventilation. Of course, if you hate painting, you could always lie to DH and say it's unsafe so he'll do it!
My sister and her husband painted Brinlee's room for us when I was about 7 months pregnant. DH and I went out of town and they came over to paint, it was a surprise! We just re-painted Brinlee's room on Monday for her toddler room... DH and I did the painting this time.
I painted our kitchen when I was 7-8 months. Not the easiest thing to do because of standing in high places and weird angles but I did it.
She's right though, make sure to have ventilation and only latex paint. You should be fine!
