My lovely DF and I are TTC #1.. after a loss in November. I have purchased a set for a girl (that I found on this board!) and also just today purchased a set for a boy. My girl set has the valance and everything that matches, but my boy set only has the bumper, blanket, skirt, and sheet. The colors should be easy to find things to coordinate with it, just looking for some ideas for mobiles and other decorations for both sets so i've included pictures. Anyone got any good ideas?
and this one was a real deal.. overstock.com (i didn't know they sold baby stuff!)
Those are both cute sets!
It will be easy finding stuff to go with the boys room. I would just do a solid shade of that blue or green or valance or curtains (whichever you prefer).
Nursery name letters are cute for walls and you could paint them yourself or have them painted to match the bedding ( a lady from ebay is doing dd's).
For mobiles- both boys had matching mobiles but with Layla's bedding (from pottery barn kids) they don't have matching mobiles. So I just didn't have one with her. In my opinion, it's not a necessity, she was in the crib to sleep and I hung a pull toy that attaches to the crib & plays music for her. You could also put a mirror or one of those aquariums on the crib rail.
Plus your baby (he/she) will have plenty of other stimulating toys I'm sure so don't think they would be "deprived" if they don't have a mobile, kwim?
Good luck & I'm sure you'll get other ideas on here soon!
