for all the mommies that have done the wooden letters-- what type of paint did u use? did u use stencils? freehand?

i am thinking of painting my dd letters-- right now the are white-- i am thinking 3 purples letters and 3 pink letter- and some sort of design on top. but i am clue less-

i also have my sons letters to do- dont know if i should do camo--all the males in family have military background- or should do just paint them blue or green. ---there is no bedding sets for either child so i can go from a design thats there--

I just used craft paint from Michael's. I also got the butterflies (not painted) and the flower (painted) there too. They have all sorts of wooden things you could paint and glue on at craft stores. Look on ebay too for ideas.

We used semi-gloss paint that is also used on walls. We chose this paint because we would also be using the same colors for other things (like on her walls or other wood items) and it worked out great.
