Someone in my area was selling a Jenny Lind crib, changing table, mattress, and changing pad for $100. It's in fantastic condition and looks brand new. My Mom went ahead and told me to get it because it was such a great deal. The only problem is the crib is painted a very light baby blue.

I don't want to repaint it. I don't think it will look good if I try and put white or another color on it. I actually really like the blue color. It goes with my "cloud" theme.

Does it really matter if the crib is a boyish blue even if I end up having a girl? I'm pretty sure I am having a boy but then again I might be wrong. I just don't want to go through the hassle of painting over it and possibly ruining the pieces. I could always offset the blue with purples and other "girl" colors, right?

What does everyone think?

I would leave it! Like you said, you can always add other colors in the room.

We THOUGHT Sam was our last baby so we painted his changing table a slate blue color to go with his room, it looked SO nice! We ended up selling it at our yard sale, a lady loved it!
It actually worked out because we bought a dresser/changer combo for dd since her closet is small so I wouldn't have used the changing table anyway, lol.

I don't see blue as being only a boy color. If you like the color I would stick with it regardless of the sex of your baby.

We were gonna do blue.green and yellowe regardless of the gender. we were just gonna add some pink if it was a girl. I think the crib will be fine! Do you have any pics of it? Or your nursery?

Here is what we have so far!!! There is still a lot more to do though but we'll wait until we find out the gender.

Wow that is a really good deal! I think blue isn't just a boy color, it can be a girl color too, and like you said you can put other colors with it. I think your nursery and everything looks great!! Have fun decorating, you will enjoy it!
