All these crib recalls are making me nervous. I purchased the simplicity nursey in a box a few months ago and now I see today that it is being recalled. Currently I am still trying to conceive so I have time to return it to the store and find something else. I bought it when I was pregnant before. When I found out I was pregnant I got excited and bought a crib and painted the nursey and a bunch of stuff. Does anyone know of a company that makes cribs that hasn't had a recall lately. Most of the cribs that I've been looking at are made by the two companies that seem to be getting the most recalls.

I will never purchase another item from Simplicity for as long as I live. It's hard to find good products and with any product, you run the risk of a problem or recall. Just keep your eye out on suspicious things.

1. Is the crib sturdy and all screws hidden.
2. Are the slats at least 2 and 3/4 inches gap between them.
3. What does the mattress support section look like? Metal? Wood? One peice? Slats?
4. Do your research! All this info is available online.

You can go to www.cpsc.gov and search for crib recalls in the last 10 years or so.

Check out the book, Baby Bargains. It is excellent! Reviews and gives ratings of many different brands.
