This is from this chic I know from the LDS/mormom church I used to attend here in town via Facebook.

(names protected) was just watching Johnny Test with my boys and during commercial break there was an ad for Xfinity with Comcast....that was previewing NIGHTMARE ON ELM'S STREET!!!! This is almost enough for me to cancel my service....they will get an earful from me!

(another mormonbot) cartoon network has AWFUL commercials!!! I never let my kids watch that station because of what is on the commercials - but we ended up turning the satellite off anyway... Satan is everywhere!!!

Come on! The only thing you're going to accomplish doing that is for the folks at Comcast to rightfully think you are a complete head case. Not to say that I think it's ideal kid's programming or even a bit inappropriate but come on people!!!

Sometimes. Just today there was a conversation between some old high school acquaintances regarding a book that had "questionable morals". These kids, if they should ever find their way out from under these hoverMoms, are going to get a shock of reality. Real life isn't pretty, it isn't perfect and it certainly isn't something that you can contain. One day, it is going to reach out to those kids and smack them in the face.

Is Satan in my T.V. right now? Sh**. I'm calling a priest... NOW

And yes, I think some people shelter their kids way too much. Not just religious people though.

This is an old one but how about this dad that tried to get a book banned from his daughter's high school curriculum when it is a book about a world with no free thought were books were banned. LOL

I would say the conservatives do, absolutely.

If something comes on the evil Satan-screen that may not be appropriate, I change the channel (gasp! I know, I know, it's such a difficult concept!), or use it as an opening for dialogue with my child.

I have what is probably an unhealthy obsession with learning and reading about quiverfull and patriarchy lifestyles (thank you, Duggars) and I feel for any of those kids who may ever want to leave the clutches and live a normal life. Tis not easy for them, not easy at all.

I thought it was common knowledge that Satan has a mansion in West Beverly Hills. Isn't he even on the map to the stars' houses?

And here's what crazy woman's hubby said (again, names protected)

(mr. crazy) I sure love you Hol...you are a great woman!

A great woman for what, sheltering your kids from any and all unpleasantries, and then coming to church and treating people who just may think a little outside the Mormon box, like pure crap?

Namely, me? You know what, I have a rant about all of this. I am going to put it into another topic...Don't say you haven't been warned!

I totally agree that it doesn't have to be a religious thing. But it is quite interesting how the very religious justify everything in religious terms.

And now I'm off to find a copy of Fahrenheit 451. It sounds good and I have a 40% off coupon for Borders. Woot!

Thank you for fracking saying that! I have thought this since forever.
Thank you. Seriously. Some parents want to make their children think this world is made of chocolates and butterflies! Come on! Doo-Doo happens. Sure, I don't want my daughter's to see this, but, it's life! They know I will someday die. They know this world isn't one huge Disneyland!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Those are the kids that grow up to be insane!

I feel like everytime there is something offensive, or anytime a bad thing happens, it's Satan's fault. When I'm depressed, my christian friends tell me it's because Satan has a hold on me, and he is feeding thoughts into my mind :- /.

I'm thinking ...not so much.
