fundies want prayer in school, some want to teach the bible and to generally celebrate the christian religion. However, according to my Facebook "friends", Halloween is unacceptable in the schools. So, it is ok to celebrate your silly, stupid holidays and rituals, but not another religion (Pagan, Celtic)?

That is the way life goes is most schools these days. I personally believe it has to do with the fact that this nation still feels it needs to uphold the right-wing, conservative, W.A.S.P mentality. The whole separation of church and state or religion not infringing upon anyone's rights is a facade.

Ladies, don't get me started on this topic!

Reading in some of the other boards here...I really get irked out at how they aren't taking their children Trick or Treating on Sunday (Halloween day) because it falls on Service Day...***? So...they're trick or treating either Friday or Saturday before Halloween...

Um, can we say: Hyporcrites?

Seriously!

Screw that!
My children are going to go Trick or Treating on HALLOWEEN Day. That's the tradition. That is the actual holiday date.

Grrr.

We had two groups of kids come to our door tonight. We said the hell with that and shut off all the lights so we could watch the world series in peace. I'm not really into accomodating religion today....

That's like, "Um excuse me, but can we move Christmas to December 26th? It interferes with my Winter Solstice celebration! K, thanks!"

NO.
