There is a thread in here with a link to a bunch of homemade FSM toppers... I want to make one!

We do put up a tree. Our decorations are my huge collection of ornaments that was started for me at birth, plus some of my mom's that she divvied up for me when I had kids and we realized that I needed them more than she did since she doesn't even put up a tree and I had kids who would be expecting it. I love unwrapping them all and hanging them up, it's like seeing old friends. My current topper is a nice Santa Claus (also my mom's) with a porcelain face and bells in his hand. I love the FSM toppers though...

We always have a tree. I think our topper is a star....We bought it last year, so I don't actually remember very well what it looks like. lol But since I'm the one who posted those FSM toppers, I feel obliged to make one this year. We all need to share pics if we do it!

Our ornaments are just a random collections of things we like, and things I've nabbed on clearance. My husband has lots of different classic car ornaments, my daughter has amassed some horses, and it's all totally random.

We do a tree as well and our topper is a star or something secular. Our ornaments are just random ones I find and like that match. I got a bunch of stuff on clearance last year and am going with a bright theme this year. Bright green, red, blue, purple, pink, etc. It will be very colorful.

Mine are totally random too, I think it has character! My ornaments range from traditional Christmas stuff like Santas and things involving candy canes and such, to the Pink Panther in a lounge chair, to Captains Kirk and Picard, to Bugs Bunny in his Carmen Miranda getup, to Marilyn Monroe, to Lucille Ball.... TOTALLY random, and that's what I love about them. Each ornament is so unique!

My tree is completely boring. It's just a fiber-optic one.

We have a Santa Dog topper, but I will have to look into the FSM topper. :-) Our ornaments are fairly random too. Though each year since we got married we buy one ornament to represent that year. I need to get that ordered, I want to get an "Expecting family" one.

we have a fake (allergies) prelit one, with the bigger style lights. i love it

we have a whole variety of stuff we put on it. my family always got one ornament a year and then took our collection when we grew up. so i have mine from when i was small, and i started doing it for my kids too. so we have our special ones we put up. and then i have some of those unbreakable ball ones.

our smallest cat climbs up the tree and pulls the ornaments off. if they were real glass it would be a HUGE mess!! same reason makes us not do tinsel. we use just the garland kind.

we have a pretty golden glittery star we put on top

i think the fsm stuff is awesome, but i'm too much of a traditionist
