I saw this documentary on youtube about how the more science progresses, the less religion will prevail....
Before, people believed the Earth was the center of the solar system, etc... now a days, even people with religious beliefs agree with most of science's discoveries. It's believed that most religious people (not the extremists) also believe in evolution, whether they openly admit it or not (given that more people say they believe in evolution than people who admit to be atheists...)

The more science advances and discovers the physics and laws of the universe, the less of a place religion as we know it, will have in our societies.
