I may not believe in a god, but I know how to read, and knowing the bible--even a little--can come in really handy with relating to Christians, or even having them see your point of view.

For example, sometimes I'll hear someone mention that they are Christian, but they have to have their son circumcised because it's in the Bible. Good thing I know that it's commanded in the Old Testament, but since Christians believe the New Testament, in which Jesus shed his blood on the cross to wash away all sins, and therefore eliminating the need for any further sacrifice, including the sacrifice of their own newborn's very flesh.

Same with spanking. I'm still learning about how it relates to the Bible, but suffice to say I haven't met a Christian yet who could imagine Jesus hitting a little kid.

I think there are times I question their philosophy. If they are needing a resource, it might have a reference to scripture.

Oh yes. When I hear Christians saying that "God just doesn't love gays" I remind them that men sacrificed their daughters to be raped so that men wouldn't sleep with other men.

Supposedly, but aren't Christians supposed to not judge and love their neighbor, too?

ROFLMAO! That's hilarious! I'm literally lol.

In regards to the topic, I used to but I've become more understanding of Christians than when I first de-converted. I do know the Bible better than most Christians and I could if I wanted. I choose not to.
