I love these forums! DH and I are not ttcing right now but I am trying to chart my cycles/use OPKs so when we do start trying again I'll know exactly when I O...
Well a while ago I posted because I kept getting neg. OPKs...but I also just had our first baby 8 months ago...and a lot of you said + research on the Internet that anovulatory post-partum cycles are common. So I figure OK, I had my firs period after birth and am just not ovulating yet...this seems very possible because I am still exclusively breastfeeding my 22lb 8 month old (she's literally off the charts in weight and length) who still feeds like every 2 hrs day and night!
Well on Weds. DH and I dtd. Then last night I started to notice that I had EWCM...weird I thought b/c I am cd 20...well just for kicks *or so I thought* I POAS and took another OPK this afternoon....and a BFP OPK showed up on cd 20!!!
What the heck is going on!?@ My cycles before birth where ALWAYS regular and only 26 days so I usually Oed on cd 12 or so....
Also, I read on the OPK box that an OPK is only pos. two days before you O, is this true? Can OPKs be wrong?
I am really freaking out, because I LOVE babies and cant wait to have another one...but we are so NOT ready for another one right now...I am staying home and we need to make more $ before #2 arrives. Dont get me wrong if I end up preggers i'll still be overjoyed but wow my cycles have never been so screwy.
Thanks for any advice and TONS of baby dust to all who are ttcing - here's hoping for Christmas BFPs!
It is definitely possible that your cycles after having your baby will be longer... at least til they even out. And that positive OPK is a good sign that you are Ovulating soon.... well at least that your body is trying anyway.
