I had a blood test today at 7 DPO,the doc wanted to see if I was pregnant before I have an xray, will it pick up a pregnancy that soon?I was one that measures(or counts) hcg.I just wonder if it's too soon to pick up a baby bean?

*UPDATE*
I got my beta hcg results,it was 2.39 at 7 DPO,which means not pregnant.Their standards are 4.84 to be pregnant.Do we always have hcg in our blood or is this maybe the start of a pregnancy?

7dpo might be a tad too early. 10 days for sure, but sometimes it could implant on the early side and of course be in your blood stream, some dr.'s consider anything under 10 a negative. Make sure you ask him if ANY hcg is in your results, just to be on the safe side since it is sooo early. good luck to you..

HCG isn't even produced in your body until AFTER implantation... and you don't implant until AT LEAST 7DPO but closer to 10 DPO. It would take another 3-4 days before there would be enough HCG in your system for a positive test... blood or urine.

It really depends on implantation... which occurs between 7 and 10 DPO usually!

It's not uncommon to find hCG levels of <5 mIU/ml in non-pregnant women. But don't think you're not pregnant... you may not have implanted by the time the test was done. The only way you can be sure is to take a test in a week or so.

Are you getting an X-ray of your abdomen? If not there is very little risk to any embryos as long as you are given the lead shield vest to protect your chest/abdomen. On average civilians receive less than 100 mR of radiation per year from X-Rays and medical procedures which is less than or equal to what you get from the sun. So there really is nothing to worry about from a single X-Ray session on a limb or digit during early pregnancy; it's more just a precaution. Good luck!

Even with a blood test, 7 DPO is way too early to get a positive result. I had a blood test done at 7 DPO and it came out negative. I tested with a FRER 5 days later and got a positive.

Good luck!

You could be Pregnant, But don't get your hopes up too high. If it were Zero now that would be a total negative, but there was something. I'd test again in a week or at least 5 days. If your pregnant the baby could have JUST implanted when you had the blood drawn.
