My husband and I have been married for 8 months and this is our first/going on second month TTC. We are pretty active in the sex department and have been since before we got married. Can you have too much sex when TTC?? I have heard yes and no, so we are kinda confused.

You guys are too funny!

This is my opinion, so take it or leave it. A lot of sex during non-ovulation times is never a bad thing!! However, I've read several reports and my infertility specialist (when I was ttc my first son) told me to bd every 36 hours around the time of ovulation so you could go every 36 hours for say a week just so you don't miss the egg. A man does need time to build up sperm - not only the count, but 36 hours is optimal for motility and morphology? Anyways, the bottom line is that you get healthier sperm if you wait 36 hours vs. 24 hours.

I know many may disagree, but it's what I was told and I've read a lot on the subject that agrees with that.

Who knows? lol

ITA Shelly. Before we found out that DH was born with his birth defect of his reproductive organs, the infertility specialist we saw told us to try every 48-36 hours during ovulation.

I agree, the sperm needs time to build up for the few days before & on the day you ovulate for pregnancy to be successful. My fertility Dr. told me that you should not have sex 4 days prior to an ovulation predictor test reading you are about to ovulate. Then she said to have sex for 3 to 4 days in a row when you get the positive indicator from the ovulation predictor test. Hopes this makes sense
