Hi there. I am a nurse and work night shift. The last 2 months AF has started right around midnight while I am at work. So which day should I count as CD 1? The day before or the day after the clock strikes 12?
Now that's a darn good question and I have always wondered that myself. Use to ALWAYS get AF while I was sleeping and when I got up that was day 1. Now I get at all funky times. Noon - 8 or 10 at night and when I get it just before bed like that - I too wonder - should I count today as the first day or tomorrow.
When I was in college I can't tell you how many fricking pair of underwear I threw away (not the easiest place to wash them quickly) because AF would come at the MOST inopportune time (sometimes 2 w, sometimes one month, I NEVER knew). Anyway, now mine is every 28 days almost to the T. And it now comes in the a.m.. Finally.
If I were you and it started at midnight, I would call that DATE CD1. If you are still on Tues but midnight makes is Wed, I would just use Wed as CD1. Just my opinion Hope that wasn't too confusing.
From a friend of mine who has gone through all kinds of infertility testing and finally IVF and my own experience with my infertility specialist, I was told that anything before 6pm is cycle day 1. Anything after 6pm the next day will be cycle day 1.
