How many of you have tried to use a saliva ovulation microscope? I just got one for this cycle and have been using it the last few days. Mostly, I see a bunch of dots, but the last couple of days, there has been a big squiggly kind of line running through some of the dots on the edge of the slide. Do you know if that is the start of partial ferning? That's how I marked it on my chart, but I just wanted to check and make sure that is correct. Also, how much saliva do you put on the slide and how do you put it on? I have tried drooling onto the slide and licking the slide and have been careful not to have any air bubbles. What has worked best for you? I would certainly appreciate any advice you can give! TIA!

I don't mean to laugh but you are so funny! What kind did you purchase? I use the Ovulite. The best way to do it is to grab saliva from under your tongue using the tip of your tongue. Place it on your finger & check for air bubbles. You want to get enough to cover the whole lens but not where it's running off the sides. Gently touch the lens so that the saliva is disbursed evenly. You shouldn't have to touch the lens with your finger just the saliva. Let it dry then look. DON'T blow on it to dry it quicker though it will mess up the fern patterns. If you use to much saliva it will take a little longer to dry so after a few times of doing it you will know how much to use. I think the saliva kits are great. I could tell 4 days before O & you should be able to see the fern patterns VERY clear. Anything else is usually nothing.
