Maybe those who chart as well as use OPK may have some insight.....


I know the standard 12-48 hrs but how soon after a + do you O? The same day? The next? A few days later?

My pattern is O pain the day of a + OPK and then FF marks me down as Oing the next day....does this sound right?

Without temps on your chart FF is just making a random guess. Me personally, I seem to vary. Some months I have O'd the day of a positive OPK and then I have O'd as late as 2 days after a positive OPK. (I had to go look back at my old charts from the last time I was charting, but I have seen that it has varied for me.)

FF says I Oed 2 days after my first +OPK this month. I don't know if that is the norm for me or not. This is my first month temping. It's fun. Keep BDing for another day or two for safe measure. Originally FF said I Oed on CD14 and two days later it change my O date to CD 16. I'm glad I didn't stop BDing. Good luck

This cycle FF first said I O'ed the same day as my OPK, but I didn't think that that sounded or looked right, and after asking a bunch of the girls here, I changed to FAM and FF said I O'ed 2 days after, on CD 19. It was my first month temping and charting though so I don't know my pattern.

Just curious if you get O pains and if you had them before/during/or after you o'd?

I do get O pains,I get them days before and on O day.I have even felt them this time after O,and I am pregnant.My Dr. says that that the pain now is the corpus lithium.

I O usually the next day but I have Oed within 12 hours of the first positive and as late as 36.
This cyce I Oed 36 hours after the first positive.... and I had some bad O pains (before and during) while I was Oing.

i got 3 +opk's and the day i got the first negative was the day i got my crosshairs...

this is my first month of charting so i dont know if it is typical for me or not. i kinda hope it is - it would be nice to know i have 3 days after a + opk!

i truly feel i have never had an O pain.

I sometimes o the same day, sometimes the day after, sometimes two days after and I have even ovulated as late as 4 or 5 days after. I think it may be because some opks pick up LH at lower levels than others. I would give your self a 3 day window at least. I would also rely very heavily on your cm if you are not charting your temps. Continue bding until you no longer have fertile cm. Also, I agree with Teresa, I think FF is just arbitrarily going with the day after your opk. I wouldn't consider that accurate.

As for o pains. Mine are very intense so I can't miss them. They usually start about three or four days before I ovulate and sometimes early. I also have similar pains throughout my cycle but not quite as intense.

I always have O pains-it's just hard for me to pinpoint where in relation to Oing they occur. This cycle I had them yesterday (my +OPK) and earlier today (-OPK)...

I tested - CD 9-12, didn't test CD 13,14, + CD 15 and - CD 16.

It's interesting to hear everyone's experiences!

I don't really know when I O after I get my peak. I use the CBEFM so I get 2 peak days and then 1 high day after that. Usually at least 3 high days before my peak days to we dtd for at least 2 of the high days before, the peak days and the high day after the peak. Usually at least 5 days in a row.
