And how do you temp?

I am thinking about temping but am at a loss for how to do it. From reading your posts, you do it first thing in the morning. Will it matter if I wake up to feed Eden in the middle of the night? Should I temp at 3am when I get up or wait until I get up for the day?

What you need is a bbt thermometer. You can get it at most drug stores or I ordered mine online. I have temped with a baby that doesn't sleep through the night before. I would pick one time and try to stick with it. I probably wouldn't temp with the 3am time, but instead your early morning time. I'm not sure what time baby usually wakes up for the day. I would pick the typical wake up time and go with that. If she wakes up earlier than that just temp then and mark the time on your chart. It won't be as accurate, but it's really all you can do and you hopefully will still be able to see a shift.

I just started literally today..I won't be much help but I did buy my BBT from Target... I stopped at 6 different stores before finding the last one on the shelf at the 3rd target I stopped at. It was just over $8 with tax. I like it so far.

I got mine at the pharmacy area of Walmart in the thermometer section... but it was the only BBT and it says on there family planning or something its white with a pick top and comes with paper charts that I don't use.

It was like $8 and i test orally

I use the BD BBT.

I've had it for almost a year and it works GREAT. I love that it has the backlight and beeps and has recall. I would highly recommend it. I didn't like the thermometers that measured to 1/100th. You don't need that kind of precision. To the 1/10th is what you want.

I temp at exactly 04:15 everyday. Sometimes 04:30. If I sleep in or am on vacation or it's a weekend, I use the handy BBT Adjuster: MyMonthlyCycles > Basal Body Temperature (BBT) Adjuster

I just set my alarm for six am on the dot I never get up then but inknow that at that time I will always have had at least three hours sleep. Someone on here told me ur supposed to take temp before anything else( getting a drink, talking, getting up etc) don't know how true that is but I stick to it. Good luck!

You are the only person I know that likes the Walgreens brand. We have all kinds of threads on the charting board about with people who have had problems with it. I think you got lucky and got one that didn't suck.

I agree with Teresa. I would go with your early morning wake up time instead of the 3am time unless you go to bed really early. You kind of have to accept that your chart won't be perfect when you have a little one waking you but you can still get a good idea of what is going on.

I buy my thermometers from early-pregnancy-tests.com but the one Amy posted is good too. I am pretty sure you can find it on amazon. Or you can find them at Walmart or at most drug stores (not any around my rinky dink town but at anyone else's town. LOL).
