Okay our hcG doubles every 48 hrs right? Well okay what I don't understand is, if it doubles why can't we get a positive sooner than one day late for Af? hcG starts rising after implantation correct? according to websites implantation occurs a week before your missed period.. By the time you do test, your hcG would be real high.. Most tests test 25 miU's.. This is quite confusing and I just don't understand.. I'm not saying I'm pregnant, but I don't understand why a HPT can't pick up sooner.. someone shed some light for me..

Implantation does not ALWAYS happen exactly 1 week before AF...sometimes it occurs a day or 2 before AF...anywhere from 6-12 DPO with the most common being 8-10 DPO I believe. So it just depends on when the egg completes the implantation and the levels of hormone produced (which takes 2 days to show up in your urine once it implants) is very different for everyone. Hope that helps a little

I am proof that implantation doesn't occur 6-10 dpo.. Last pregnancy it happened 13 dpo, and I got a BFP on 14 dpo. I had implantation bleeding... Thanks for the info, it did help!

I have also read that the hcg goes into your blood stream FIRST. Hence the fact that you can test with the blood tests days before the urine. It differs for every woman, how long it takes it to go into the urine. For some, it may reach the urine in two days time... in other women it may take 4 days to go into the urine.
