Ok, here's a genetic question.
My husband has brown eyes His mother Blue, his dad Brown.
I have Brown eyes. My mother brown, my dad Hazel.

Is it possible for us to have any other color of eye other than brown?

I think it's definitely possible....your DH could be carrying the blue eye gene from his mother so you could have a blue eyed baby I don't know how likely or unlikely it is, but it's possible...

I think when it comes to eye color, anything can happen. I have green eyes but both of my boys have brown because they are mixed and their dad's genes are dominate over mine.

They might end up with blue or green but since you have alot of brown eyes in your family, they have a good chance of being brown eyed as well.

Also, even though they say (I think) that brown eyes dominate, my mother has brown eyes, my father has hazel eyes, and both my brother and I have hazel...interesting....

It's possible... but odds are against it. The brown eyed gene is the most dominate. So if you are both brown eyed.... regardless of ancestors (why do you think you both wound up with brown? Because that was the dominate color) chances are you will have a brown eyed baby....

But odds are meant to be broken, aren't they?

I am the same as you. My mother, myself, and 3 siblings all have brown. One sister got my father's hazel. My husband and son also have brown. His father had brown, his mother has blue.
My daughter has bluish/ grey.

Definately possible. But I do know that brown is dominant so might not be likely.

IIf I remember right from biology --
Blue eyes could be a dominate resessive gene, if that makes sense? But there is no way to know for sure :/

I'm not much of a science person! Let alone biology, genetics! LOL

I am actually going to use my Bio degree! Since you have brown as dominant there is a 25% chance with the blue floating around. Best wishes!

It is definitely possible to have a blue eyed baby if you and DH both have brown eyes. Brown is a dominant gene. There is no way, other than gentic tesing , to know if you have a recessive blue gene hiding in there. But, for argument's sake, we'll say that your genes are Bb (brown/blue) and DH has BB (brown/brown) If you use a Punnett Square to figure it out, you have a 1/4 change of having a blue eyed baby.

My DH and I both have blue eyes, which is recessive. I believe that it would be near impossible for us to have a brown eyed baby.

It's been along time since I've had to search the depths of my brain for all of this information. I hope it makes sense and I hope that i'm not incorrect. I hate to make a fool of myself

Both my parents have brown eyes and I have very light, very blue eyes. My grandmother had the same color as me. My brother was born with dark blue eyes. My husband has brown eyes and we have one daugther with green eyes and my other daughter with my blue eyes. As you can see, anything is possible! HTH

I don't know about the eyes because me, dh, and my 2 dd all have blue but I was always told that dark or black hair was dominant but I have blonde (well dirty blonde now) and my dh has black (extremely dark) and our girls have light brown and blonde. I'm hoping to get a black haired blue eyed baby like my dh one of these times. Both of my girls look just like me.
