I've heard of the dangers of large amounts of caffeine leading to potential miscarriage. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I do like a cup or two of green tea every day. I've read that that may not be too much to cause problems, but I know none is even better. What do you ladies think?

And where are you? Do you drink coffee/ tea/ sodas/ lots of chocolate or anything else with caffeine? And how much?

My two favorite beverages are coffee and coke. I'm addicted to them. Luckily though, I drink coffee for the flavor - not the caffeine. So I have switched to half and half (1/2 reg. - 1/2 decaf.) and I only drink 1 coke a day. It's not the greatest.... but It's better than what I used to drink!

COFFEE AND TEA are both detrimental and can not only cause miscarriage but also abnormalities. I love coffee. I need the cafeine in the morning and I am not getting it. What I have been doing is drinking it a little bit before I O, then I stop when I am about to O. Then when AF shows her head or I have clearance from a blood test, it is fair game! I am not taking any chances!

Here are a few websites with varying opinions:

green tea doubles chances of conception: http://www.mercola.com/1998/archive/tea_do..._conception.htm

green tea:

BTW I couldn't find too many decent sources against green tea. If anyone knows any, could you please post them?

coffee:

caffeine in general:

Not all internet sources can be trusted.

Anybody else here drinks caffeinated beverages?

I am a huge Diet Coke and Tea drinker but for the last month I have switched to decaffeinated tea and coke. They taste pretty much the same and give me the same satisfaction. I drank caffeine with my other two and they are perfectly healthy. I stopped the caffeine because I noticed how addicted I was to it. Baby dust!

I cut soda out of my diet years ago almost completely...I say "almost" because before TTC I may have had a Dr.Pepper once in a blue moon if I was at a party or something, but never had them in my house. Now that we are TTC I won't touch any soda but caffeine free ginger ale once in a while.

I never drank more than 2 cups of coffee since I started drinking it (been drinking the 1/2 caffeine coffee for about 3 years now), and I am definitely not addicted to it by any means. Since we started TTC I went down to 1 cup of 1/2 the caffeine coffee a day, and no more.

My OBGYN told me it was fine to have up to 2 cups of coffee a day so I feel that having my 1 cup of 1/2 the caffeine coffee is not harming me. Oh, and I do not drink tea and do have chocolate once in a while...

I don't make a habit out of drinking coffee, pop, or tea. I normally drink water, orange juice, or milk. I do eat chocolate but not alot and sometimes have pop when I'm out for dinner and I drink coffee on the weekend. Other then that, just the good stuff!!!!

I went to decaf on my coffee, I only drink about 3 cups a wk. I've rarely drank soda in the past couple of years, I have one once in a blue moon now. My problem is I drink alot of iced tea which I am working on eliminating now.

Ok, after reading all of your posts, I feel like a real caffeine addict. I know that I drink way too much coffee. I can't help it though, I am a nurse and work 12 hours night shifts. I stay up all day with my kids and then go to work all night. So my first night at work, I am up for 28 hours SOLID. (Don't worry, I sleep the next day like the dead before I go back to work. ) I know I should try to cut back. Maybe I'll go to 1/2 caff and start there. I drank caffeine with both my boys up until I got my BFP. During my pregnancy I hardly touched the stuff. Maybe I need a 'Caffeine addict support group'. Anyone else want to join?

Well I have a bladder disease that makes me limit my caffeine so I have really had to cut back last year. I drink 1 coke in the morning to get me going and the rest of the day water so I guess I am in good shape for that. But let me tell you when I quit it was soooooo hard

I now drink decaf coffee in the morning since DH and I have started TTC. Actually I don't mind it at all. I used to drink diet pepsi all the time too, but have cut that out completely because of the Aspartame. With Easter just freshly behind, the darn bunny left me some chocolate that I won't be wasting, so I have not cut that out, and really doubt that I will, that is my downfall....love the chocolate!!!

Good luck ladies!
