I just counted and based on when I should O Dh will be out in the field when I should test. I guess if it comes up a BFP then I'll have to come up with someway to tell him on Saturday.
I was thinking for our family I would get a little onies that says born in 2011 or something (at walmart) take a picture of all three of us with it either sitting on my tummy or put in on DD's baby doll. And send it to everyone. (since we are to far away to tell them all in person) Then I'll see who figures it out first. then after the family knows i'll post it on FB to tell all my friends. what are you planning?
I've been trying to come up with something for DH. I did the "I'm going to be a big sister" t-shirt my last pregnancy. I had DD1 wear it when DH got home, took a minute or two for him to realize what it said...lol .. I also took pics of her with the shirt on to email to family/friends. So I wanted to do something different this time.
With Matthew, I did the "bun in the oven" idea- had a hot dog bun in the oven, told DH when he got home from work that I couldn't get the oven to work, and then he opened it, and surprisingly, he got it right away!
This time, I had a t-shirt for our youngest dog saying "I'm Going To Be a BIG Sister"- that took him longer to figure out
For our parents, we bought them Grandma/Grandpa books- they are books that they fill out for the baby about themselves, growing up, and their families.
My friends, the ones who know so far, were just told. Because of our history, I am just still nervous and wanted support. We haven't announced on FB yet- I have another appt on the 1st and as long as everything looks good, then we'll announce after that.
Annalise is hoping to be a big sister on June 28, 2014. Forever missing her big brother, Matthew, stillborn on July 1, 2010.
I am not too creative when it comes to telling DH. With DS1 I took the test after he left for work and just showed it to him when he got home. With DS2 I took the test while he was in the shower and then laid it on the counter where he'd see it after he got out.
I'm just too excited to come up with something creative for DH, I guess! I just want him to know!
With my parents (with DS1) we bought some raspberries, went to their house, put one berry on a plate and told them it was a riddle. They love riddles/puzzles, but ultimately (due to my obvious lack of other clues/directions, which was the point - I didn't expect them to "get it") looked at us like we were crazy and said they had no idea what it meant. I finally said, "I'm pregnant and the baby is now about the size of that raspberry." That was a fun reaction because it was so random they were not thinking 'baby news' at all! LOL! With DS2 we put a BIG BROTHER shirt on DS1 while at their house. Not sure what we'll do for blessing #3!
I love alot of those ideas and for our first i waited all day and had his favorite meal and i had wrapped a baby blanket that said a gift from above in brown paper and he got it in only two seconds. then we just told our familys because DH was to excited to wait. He would just blurt it out because he couldn't be quite.
I did come up with an idea of ordering chinese and already having a fortun cookie with the paper that says (We're expecting in 2011) or something cute. But we went bake on a diet so if I ordered Chinese he would know something was up.
