Hello all - I'm looking for your opinions. This morning (14DPO) I took a test. I was preparing myself for disappointment again this month, as I started some very light spotting five days ago.
But I am usually quite regular, so when my full period still hadn't started this morning, I thought I would check it out. Sure enough, two pink lines appeared on my test strip. I asked my DH to double check, just to make sure I wasn't seeing things. His response was "I see two lines - what does that mean?".
So I am cautiously optimistic, knowing that false positives are very rare. But then this afternoon, the spotting started to get a bit heavier. It is not flow by any stretch, but it is there and is more present than it has been in the past week. I am worried, because this is day 28 of my cycle, which is usually the day that AF arrives (and it is only 2:45 in the afternoon).
But is a positive a positive, or does this sound like a chemical pregnancy? Please be honest - although I appreciate the warm thoughts and baby dust, I am really looking for some answers! Thanks so much for your help - I really appreciate it
 WG

Spotting is normal in pregnancy but just to be on the same side i would see a doctor to make sure everything is ok with you since it has not gone away in a few days. Hope everything is ok

Yep definitely call your dr, they may want to put you on something to help with the spotting as it could be a sign of low progesterone, etc. Don't be alarmed as spotting is normal, just need to make sure a dr is aware of it.

Good luck; I hope your little bean sticks. I would definitely go to the Dr, sooner rather than later. Keep us posted of how things go, please!

It could be just your normal cycle thinking that it needs to start OR it could be a chemical. I'd test every morning and see if you're test line is getting darker...it should get darker every 2-3 days bc of increased HCG levels. And, definitely get a blood test. GL!

While I can't speak from experience, it seems like it might be hard to tell between the start of a chemical and normal pregnancy spotting. I agree that you should let your doctor know and get a blood test. FX for you that you have a sticky bean!

Thanks everyone!
2 more BFPs this morning - one digital, one traditional. The traditional one turned positive within 10 seconds and was quite dark. Digital (ClearBlue) said conception was 2 - 3 weeks ago. TI am now trying to get a hold of my doc this morning for the blood test. Thanks so much for the support!!
And sorry for the silly question, but what does "fx" mean?

Fx means "fingers crossed"
Please keep us posted after you talk to your doc.

Hi all - just wanted to give an update for those who asked. As you all suggested, I saw a doctor as soon as possible (which turned out to be Friday morning). It was not my normal doctor, but a colleague in the clinic. We talked a lot about the spotting and what it could or could not mean. He set me up for 3 beta tests so we could monitor the HCG levels. He also put me on bed rest until today, just as a precaution.
I spent the weekend dealing with cramps and continued spotting, which had me quite worried but I tried to stay calm, knowing that if indeed things weren't going to work out, that was something that is beyond my control. I had another blood test Saturday morning, and one yesterday
This morning, I saw my regular doctor and we talked everything out. Again, she reiterated that the HCG tests will tell the tale. She had the results back from my Saturday test, and they were exactly where they should be. We are now just waiting for my Monday test results, which should be available today or tomorrow. So all we can do is wait and keep our fingers crossed that the numbers are higher when the results come in!
I am still spotting the same amount as I have been all along, but thankfully the cramping has subsided, and I am only getting the odd twinge here and there, which I understand is completely normal.
So if you are able to send a positive thought or two my way while I wait for my test results, I will be forever grateful. Thanks everyone!

I am so happy to hear you were able to get into the dr and they set you up with blood work! Sounds like things are progressing nicely and hopefully you will get great news tomorrow from your Monday bloodwork!

Hi everyone - just wanted to let you know I got a great call from the doctor today! HCG levels are very strong, and she assured me I can now be excited instead of worried! We are going to keep an eye on the spotting, which is still happening, but baby seems to be doing just fine in spite of it, so I am over the moon!
Thank you everyone for your support during a very stressful time. I truy appreciate it!
