Well, I managed to get squeezed in to see my new OBGYN today. He was much more respectful than the GP from a few months back. Drew three vials of blood (!) to get some bloodwork done. I'm scheduled for a pelvic ultrasound next Thursday.

I kind of expected a u/s to come waaay later in this journey, but I'll roll with it. Sounded like he wanted to do the ultrasound, get the b/w results back, and then discuss the possibility of Clomid.

I admit, I'm a bit nervous about the ultrasound. Are they usually abdominal or vaginal for fertility screenings? The abdominal one doesn't sound too bad, just uncomfortable (bladder-wise ), but in all honesty, the vaginal one freaks me out a bit. Is it uncomfortable? I'm going to give them a call in the morning, and ask if they can tell me what kind of u/s it will be.

I can tell you right now it will be a vaginal one. lol. I was a little freaked out at first but it's really not that bad. You hardly feel it.
It's fantastic how proactive your OB is!! Consider yourself luck. I hope all your bw comes back good!

Keep us updated on the results.

Sorry that you're freaked out about the u/s. Just think baby thoughts, and hopefully that will make it a little easier.

I'm so glad to hear your doctor is not making you wait. If you aren't ovulating what is waiting a year going to do?! FX that you get some answers and a game plan quick!

That's great news! There's nothing better than a proactive dr. Your u/s will be transvaginal, like Nina said. Don't be worried about it! It's nothing and not the least bit uncomfortable. You'll probably be watching the screen anyway (if they let you). It's pretty cool to actually see all the stuff we usually only read about!

I had to have a vaginal U/S while TTC the 1st time around. There is nothing to it. The wand isn't that big around. It's really no different than having a pap. In my opinion the vaginal was much easier than the abdominal. Good luck to you. I hope everything goes very smoothly.

I have had soooo many vaginal ultrasounds (short cervix that needs monitored during pg).... It is not that bad and you get used to it. I think it was neat to see everything and you will learn a lot! GL with everything! Glad your DR is acting quickly!
