We just starts TTC #2. Here is my concern. I workout a lot. Someone at the gym mentioned that I was really lean and probably only had essential fat. My heart sank because I immediately realized they might be right. So I had one of the trainers to a skin fold test 3 times to make sure it was right. And I'm 10.5%, which is really low and I'm in danger of not ovulating. This is my first cycle of BCP, and I feel like i at least geared up to O around CD 10, but I don't know if it happened. My friend, who is a trainer, is going to help me "fatten" up a little, but I'm just really dreading these next few months of seeing lots of BFN's but possibly no AF.

Being lean does not necessarily mean that you will not ovulate. Just go google Kara Goucher and Paula Ratcliff!!! They are olympic marathon runners who gave birth last year. They were probably at around 5 or so % body fat when they conceived!

How are you eating and nutrition wise? That plays a bigger role in your fertility than your frame and leaness alone. Make sure that you are eating enough to support your activity! Problems with fertility come in when your body is not getting enough fuel for your body and then it will begin shutting down "non-essential" functions, such as O'ing. THis is the reason ladies with eating disorders do not O. Eating enough should be a main concern for any athlete!

I always tell people this, but I have been in a marathon training cycle where I was running anywhere from 70-100 miles a week and a weekly long run of 18-23+ miles when I conceived all 4 times! That's not to mention the strength training (weight lifting), yoga, and pilates I did on top of the running. I did not have issues conceiving. Well, this last one took a bit longer, but it was because DH was having some reproductive issues due to his diabetes, and all my tests came back perfectly normal.

So, make sure you are eating adequate calories!!!! Also, have you considered charting your BBT? This will allow you to know for sure if you are O'ing each cycle and help you to zero in on if there is a problem much more quickly. I would HIGHLY suggest beginning this ASAP. Also, if you're just coming off BCP, it can take a few cycles to your body to adjust to functioning correctly in the reproductive area again. So don't get discouraged if you don't jump back into a normal cycle right away, and don't simply assume that it's you being "too fit" that is messing with your body.

Being fit is VERY important in TTC and pregnancy, as well. You keep at it, just make sure your getting enough fuel!!!! GL!!!!

I don't diet, but I do try to eat clean. I would say I probably take in about 1700 kcal/day (I'm 4'11" 95 pounds) and it's well balanced.

I charted with #1, but my husband asked me not to for a few months just to see what happens. I had EWCM on CD 10, so that gave me hope I do think that my body naturally functions just fine with a low body fat. I was an high level competitive gymnast, so that is kind of how I grew up.

I just get worried. TTC can be so stressful!
