Well, AF came, so my last cycle was only 27 days long and LP was only 9 days again. I had a feeling this wasn't going to be my cycle, but we timed BD perfectly. (that one get's a double frowny face!) LP was longer my last cycle, so I thought that finally months of 100mg+ of B6 was working, but maybe not....So, next new venture, progesterone cream. Has anyone used progesterone cream? If so, did you talk with your doctor first about it or did you just decide to start using it? Did it lengthen your LP? When in your cycle did you use it? Sorry for all of the questions. Thanks ladies!!!!

I have been taking natural progesterone cream (Emerita brand) and it does seem to have worked for me increasing my LP phase from 10-11 days to 13. At least I THINK its the progesterone cream working. I'm also taking Vitex, Maca, and B6 but the month I added the NPC is the month my LP increased! I start it 3DPO (to be sure i definitely did O). And no, I didn't discuss it with my doctor first. I heard there is no risk in taking it even if you don't have a progesterone problem - it won't hurt anything. I figure it's definitely worth a try!

I took some OTC progesterone cream several cycles ago since my LP was only 11 days with a ton of spotting the week before, and it honestly did nothing for me. Actually, my spotting was worse than normal that month. It took several cycles (3 I think) of b6 and Red Rasperry Leaf, but now my LP is 12-13 days with no spotting. But I will say that I had a progesterone draw done, and my progesterone turned out to be normal, so the doctor said not to worry about it. It may be worth a try, but I would have your progesterone checked out by a doctor, because the prescription stuff will work significantly better than the OTC stuff.

I'm so sorry AF shows up. I really hope this cycle is it for you and your body finally cooperates!

My RE puts me in Progesterone Suppositories after O and until a confirmed BFN.
I am not sure about the OTC cream. To be safe I would ask your DR. But if you want to do it on your own, then I wouldn’t do it until you O. If you go more than 14-16 days LP then you will want to take a HPT and if it is BFN then stop using it. The reason is progesterone causes most ladies not to have their AF, I am not sure if the cream will do the same or not. I will say for me, the prescription progesterone has not stopped my AF from coming. So if AF does come, I am to stop progesterone the first day of full flow.

Good Luck to you!

Well this stinks. I tried to find the link where I found a recipe that I would like to try next cycle. I believe that I may suffer from low progesterone. Actually going in for BW today. Anyway. If you think this might be of any use to you here is a recipe that is supposed to help balance out your levels of progesterone and estrogen. They did say that it doesn't work overnight. You can do it for 18 months at a time and it can take several months to see results in your cycles.

Entire Cycle take the following:

1. 1 - Prenatal Vitamin Daily
2. 1 - Baby Asprin Daily
3. 1 50 mg. B6 vitamin in the morning
4. 1 B-50 Complex (time release if you can find it) in the evening

From Cylce Day 1 until ovulation take the following:

1. 1 - Vitex 500 mg capsules in the morning
2. 1 - Vitex 500 mg capsules in the evening

Optional:

Take the recommended dose of Robitussion with Guaifenesin as the only ingredient from the end of your period until ovulation. (This will help to provide fertile CM).

This cycle I just started out with the first half of the recipe. Next cycle I'm considering trying the vitex. We'll see what happens.

I just learned that to get the most benefit from B6 you should also add B12. I hope that helps!

Thanks ladies!!!! I really appreciate your suggestions, you are all so sweet! I have been taking B6 with complex (B12) for months, but I don't think it's time released, so I'll check into that. I haven't taken Vitex either, I'll look into that as well. I left a message for my GYN this morning, hopefully she'll recommend that I see her for BW to test my progesterone level or any other tests that will definitively determine if I have an LP defect (which I suspect that I have--my guess is due to the lack of progesterone). At my last visit she wanted me to wait until May to see her. Hopefully she'll change her mind! I'll KUP! Thanks again, you ladies are the BEST!!!
