Ok so I know I am prob going to sound like a total newb here... but do youhold your urine for 3 hours before POAS for OPKs, or dont hold your urine at all....

And is it always better to do your OPK test in the middle of the afternoon (like noon), or in the evening (around 6pm???)

Can clomid affect your OPKs???? and when taking Clomid how far into your cycle is it too late?????

For some reason I think I am doing my OPKs wrong... I cant seem to catch a surge at all..

afternoon testing is best. I always tried to hold it for a few hours just to make sure it wasn't too diluted.

Clomid DOES NOT have an effect on OPK's.

I didn't understand what you meant by how far into your cycle is too late.

I was taking it twice a day so i can catch it. I had no clue when i ovulated so i made sure the 12 hour window was covered. My first urine never showed a false positive but it was pretty dark on the OPK. and afternoon i would make sure i held it for atleast 2 hours, and when i did ovulate it showed up holding it just for 1 hour. Good luck, hold you catch that eggy soon!!!

I meant how far into your cycle is it too late to ovulate while on Clomid... From what I have read you should ovulate within 5-7 days after taking the last clomid pill..... today is day 5 for me and still no surge

Oh, I wouldn't ovulate until a few days later than I did when I wasn't on it. What day do you normally ovulate, if at all?

I wouldn't worry about it. CD 12 is still early even if you weren't on Clomid. That tends to delay things by a few days.

I haven't been ovulating, ya why they put me on Clomid. I took 50mg from cycle day 3-7. The research I did said u should ovulate 7 days after you last Clomid Pill??? Idk, this is my first cycle on Clomid, so a medicated cycle is all new to me

I have heard that anywhere between 10AM and early evening are good for testing. I was doing mine around 4PM since I drink a lot of fluids early in the day. I would TRY to hold my urine and not drink much for four hours prior to testing, but it's really hard for me. I tend to make it for 3.5 hours max.

I think it'll all get easier once you do catch that first surge. That's the tricky part. My tests always have a faint line, but once it starts getting darker, I test twice a day. With that method I was able to catch my surge last month. Good luck!

I wouldn't worry about not O'ing yet. Give it more time and keep checking the OPK's. I really hope you can get that BFP on your first cycle of Clomid. I had to take it for 7mo. straight starting at 50mg and updosing by 50mg each cycle, plus taking provera between each time, and I still never O'd at all.

Don't let my story get you down, just know that 1 cycle at 50mg doesn't have to be the end of it.
