Haha, well, I was less nervous about it than before, because of you ladies, but I was definitely still nervous.

My pelvic u/s was this morning, and it was seriously nothing to be worried about. It wasn't really uncomfortable, and the tech was very kind. It was neat seeing my ovaries and such, though I can't honestly say I knew what I was looking at, aside from that circular blob being my ovary and follicles within the blob.

The tech said everything looks good, except that my right ovary looks slightly polycystic. However, my left ovary didn't look that way at all, and my bloodwork was completely fine, so she said she'd leave that to the doc. I wish now that I had asked what "slightly polycistic" means, any ideas?

Now I'm just on the edge of my seat waiting for a call from the nurse so we can figure out the next step.

I'm glad that the U/S is over now, and that it wasn't too bad. I wish I knew what slightly polysistic meant. I would love to give you insight.

I did want to congratulate you on finally being able to get into the Dr. I can't wait to hear the results. They need to hurry up and put a band aid on it so you can get yourself knocked up.

I'm glad it's over and everything looks good. I also don't know what "slightly polysistic" means, but it doesn't sound bad. I'm glad your tech was nice. It's such a weird thing to have done anyways, I don't like grouchy techs.

I have never had an ultrasound, but I was diagnosed with a mild case of PCOS (which makes me wonder if it is only one ovary like yours, hmmm) but my bloodwork definitely showed it. I have wondered before if you were polycystic due to the length of your cycles. My dr put me on Metformin, and it has done wonders with regulating my cycle... I am now a 30 day cycle girl!

My DX was also mildly PCOS. Basically from what I understand, it just means that you have enough of the symptoms to be DX PCOS but things are normal enough that it should be easy to treat. I never have had cysts but still was not O'ing. All my test's BW and US were normal but on the very high end of normal. I'm on 500mg Metformin twice a day and that along with a low carb diet to help with insulin resistance that can actually cause the PCOS I've been able to adjust my cycle to a normal 28-30 days and O at the right times. I now have a beautiful 13mo old son and am TTC #2 again on the same meds, diet and with the same DX.

Thank you, ladies. I really don't know much about PCOS, just what I've learned incidentally from TTC, and from a best friend of mine who has a severe case of it.

I appreciate the info, hopefully I will find out soon whether the doc actually thinks I have PCOS or not. I was really crossing my fingers that the nurse would get back to me on Friday, but no dice. Oh well, she'll probably just tell me I have to come in and chat with the doc, but won't be able to fit me in for another few weeks.
