Hello! Anyone else with a really short luteal phase? I am currently nursing an 18th month old and this will only be my fourth cycle postpartum. Each time my luteal phase has only increased by one day. It actually started at only four days. Has anyone experienced this and had it jump by several? I am reallyyyyy hoping this time it just might do that! I have been taking 100mg of B6 for months now. Any other advice? Thanks.

I have similar problems. My LP last cycle was only 9 days. I have never been pregnant, so I'm not sure how this would effect your cycle. I've had a short LP since stopping BCP and also have been taking 100mg + of B6 with complex for several months. Mine stared at 5 and went to 13 days (I think, I wasn't charting that month), but this cycle was back down to 9 days. I'm thinking about using progesterone cream (I think I have a LP defect), but I'm waiting on my Gyn to return my call about this option. Other than progesterone cream, I'm not sure about how to increase/lengthen the LP. Hopefully in your case, the B6 just needs a little more time to affect your cycle. If you hear of something else that might increase the LP, please let me know. GL!

I hear that to get the best results from B6 you should take it with B12. Have you tried adding an equivalent amount of B12?

The only thing that finally worked for me is 100mg of B6 twice a day and 500mcg of B12 (B complex) once a day. That helped mine go from 10-14 in a month.

Are you still breastfeeding? That can affect it quite a bit. Doesn't mean you have to stop, just means it might make it a little more difficult. Since you said it's been increasing by a day each cycle, it's possible that it will lengthen out on it's own.

I am still breastfeeding. No breastfeeding end in sight for this little one! Thanks for all the helpful advice. I am 2dpo and was just hoping maybe I would suddenly have a normal lp!
