So confused. We DTD last Sunday at, like, midnight. Monday (CD 15) I noticed globs of EWCM (mostly clear and stretched to over 7 inches without breaking) with some spotting in it. Had cramps, soft cervix, the works. Excitedly chalked it up to O, but my very first OPKs were in the mail so I wasn't able to test prior to Sunday/Monday to see if my LH had surged.

Got my OPKs on Tuesday and figured that I would start testing to make sure I didn't see a surge in LH. All the tests have appeared to be negative, but yesterday (Saturday, CD 20) I had what appeared to be EWCM again (we had also DTD late Friday night). It was not as stretchy as the previous EWCM (or what I assumed was EWCM on Monday), but it really seemed to be EWCM. My cervix seemed to still be low and firm both today and yesterday.

So, is it possible to have EWCM twice like that? In both cases we BD late the night before. Could I have mistaken (TMI) semen from BD for EWCM in either case? To make it worse, my BBT therm is dead, so my temps were off all week. No temp rise to confirm O one way or the other. Which day should I assume I ovulated? So very confused!!!

I would go with the ewcm you had when your cervix was high and soft, you can have patches of ewcm after O as well. I find it hard to figure out the difference between ewcm and semen too. It seems my ewcm comes in TMI globs, that's how I can sometimes tell what's going on.

Oh that is confusing. I had a secondary patch of fertile mucus, but it wasn't much and every time I put it into FF, it flips out and says I O'd on cd18. I totally side eye FF for that. Yeah, because I really O'd when my cervix was lower and starting to firm up. Good job FF.

I would go with your most fertile patch of EWCM with the streaky bits of blood. Sounds like ovulation spotting to me and I had that this cycle as well. The second bit of fertile CM probably just means you had a secondary surge of estrogen and that is normal. HTH and GL to you!

Okay, I'll go off my original O date then! Why can't all this TTC stuff be more straightforward! Well, I guess we'll find out on the 12th if we timed BD right!
