Hey ladies. I need help. Ive had 3 consecutive miscarriages. Its obvious i can get pregnant, i just cant stay pregnant. I have a doctors appointment this coming friday. Have any of you experienced this??? Are there any questions i should ask? I need ALL the help i can get. No one in my family has experienced anything like this. And i am aware that some miscarriages just happen. Thank you so much!!!!
I'm very sorry to hear of your losses, if you don't mind me asking, were they early losses or late losses? I am sure your OB will go through a loss panel to hopefully figure out what is going on. I had two losses 3 months apart and we learned I have a progesterone issue and don't make enough. Or I guess my eggs may not be of the great quality therefor it produces a bad quality corpus luteum cyst which then produces low progesterone, so my Dr put me on prometrium, I take 2 pills (400 mgs) a day starting at 3 dpo, this gives my uterus a thicker lining for an embryo to burrow into, then it produces the proper amount of progesterone to keep the embryo alive until the placenta is built. I also take baby aspirin just in case of a blood clotting disorder. I hope your ob gets it figured out quickly. but don't worry, I am sure they can fix the issues. I know it's so hard to go through, you will be in my prayers
I'm so very sorry for your losses. That must be heartbreaking. I haven't experienced what you're going through, but wanted to offer some support and hugs.
I think Grace is right: your doc should be able to help you figure out what you can do to avoid any more losses in the future.
Please keep us posted on how you're doing. You'll be in my T&P.
Grace hit the nail on the head. Your gyno is going to be be far more help than us. We can only speculate with you, your gyno will be able to do tests and hopefully figure out what the issue is, then you can make a decision based on facts. But if I had to guess, I would say it's either your hormones (progesterone most likely) or you have a blood clotting disorder.
I am so very sorry about the losses you've experienced. I can't imagine how hard that's been for you. I will be sending you tons of sticky vibes and PPTs that your next will be a super sticky bean.
Thank you ladies. I know the doc will be very helpful. Im just trying to get a list of questions together for that day, does that make sense? Thats why i posted this. And progesterone is at the top. Im so glad to have this board. Considering what ive gone through, im more emotionally stable now than i was before.
Hmm ... I would ask about your progesterone levels (like you said) because that is probably the most likely culprit. There are so many xeno estrogens and phytoestrogens that we consume and then the fat in our bodies also stores estrogen and that can make your body produce less progesterone over time. It's called estrogen dominance. I would also ask about your thyroid function, blood clotting issues, the possibility that your body is producing antibodies to get rid of what it thinks is foreign tissue, and see if your hypothalamus is working properly.
I can't think of any other issues related to m/c that wouldn't have something to do with the above. But I'm not a doc, either. If I think of anything else, I will post it tho. I'm pretty sure your doc will go over this stuff with you without you having to ask, because they normally check for the most common problems first. I HTH you get an idea about what to ask your doc.
I can only imagine how hard all this must be for you and I really hope you find answers so your next bean sticks. GL to you!
I'm just a lurker on this board, though I used to be a big contributer. I was just wondering if your losses all happened early in your pregnancy. Do you know when you ovulate?
I had a luteal phase defect, which I only discovered after charting. I took B6 to lengthen it, but I had a miscarriage followed immediately by a chemical pregnancy before I finally lengthened my LP long enough to sustain a pregnancy. And now I'm 22 weeks pregnant.
I just wondered a little bit about your circumstances, in case you possibly have a LPD too. It's often a result of progesterone deficiency. So I think you're on the right track asking your doctor about progesterone.
Good luck. The pain of one loss was difficult enough. I can only imagine how difficult three in a row must be.
I just wanted to say I am sorry and I am sure your dr will be able to help get this straightened out. The othe ladies have given many examples I'd what could be discussed. Good luck and KUP
my losses happened at 10 weeks, 6 weeks and 11 weeks. Sorry... i meant to put those on here earlier. My bad.
Thanks again. This means a lot to me. I have a huge list of questions. I just want to make sure i cover EVERYTHING. Ive been doing okay mentally, considering what ive been through.... physically its taking a toll on me... i think im going through narcotic withdrawls right now... ugg. Im just flat out exhausted...
Here's an update on my story..... when I was at the hospital, they took some tissue and sent it away for chromosomal testing. It can back as either there was one too many or they were broken, I didn't really understand what she was talking about. So, next step is to go get our blood drawn to see what to do next. Have any of you had to go through chromosomal testing or had issues with that??? I need all the advice I can get.
I don't have anything else to add but wanted to say sorry for your Losses and send (((hugs))).
I had Chromosome (sp?) testing when we lost our daughter, both me and my husband had to have our bloods drawn to test if it was anything Genetic that made us lose her, so that's probably what they will test , to make sure your Chromosomes are all how they should be
Well, we had karotyping(?) Blood work done a couple weeks ago to see why part of the x chromosome kept breaking off in the lab. I also had some other blood work done recently and they found my thyroid peroxidase antibody levels are elevated. Which may solve A LOT of my problems.... have any of you ever run into that?
