What do you all do as a career? What does you DH or SO do? Are you in school still? Future career plans?
I am a SAHM right now. I am also a full-time college student, earning my Bachelor's of Science in Healthcare Administration with a concentration in Management, Master's of Science in Nursing. After I finish my Master's in Nursing, I will work for a couple years in trauma or in the ICU so I can earn experience to apply to the Nursing Anesthetist program! I am super excited, even though I have a long road ahead of me!
My hubby works at the prison here. Good pay and good benefits!
I'm a SAHM and I teach birth classes once a week, but someday I hope to do doula work as well. DH works at his dad's company selling chains and rigging supplies. Someday soon he will get to buy the business from his dad and be his own boss!
I'd love to go back to school someday... I miss it.
My DH has his CDL and he was truck driving with a local company. But he disliked it and he missed me a lot while he was gone even though it was awesome money (he was gone 5.5 days a week, only home 35 hours before going out again). So right now he's working at a landscaping company and he's going back to school for electrician in August.
I'm a 7th grade English teacher. I started out in elementary school and eventually hope to get back there. I'm awaiting admission to my Masters program (MS in Education). DH is a firefighter.
I have degrees in illustration and photography, but I've worked in those fields other than free lance work. I work for a non profit that does mental health and substance abuse counseling. I'm kind of a jack of all trades because in admin in non profit you kind of have to be! My main focus is development and fundraising.
I'd love to get my certificate in fundraising. I'm actually heavily weighing it over, but I still have some pretty hefty student loans from art school!
Dh is my blue collar guy who rebuilds semi transmissions.
I am a SAHM, which is what I've wanted for a long long time. However, if we had more money, I'd like to go back to school part time. I miss it.
DH is the controls engineer for a major beverage manufacturer. He manages all the programming for the industrial computers. The hours are pretty good, great benefits and he gets paid well.
We both love what we do, I'm really grateful.
I'm a SAHM and college student going for a Bachelor's in Business with a minor in Accounting and my fiance is in the Army and getting a Bachelor's in Business Management
I'm currently a SAHM since we moved from Arizona to Georgia this winter. Before that I was working in the NICU as an RN. I'm going into business within the next year with a friend who is also an RN...can't wait to be my own boss...lol
DH is a contractor for a major satellite company and umpires in his free time. Tonight he did little league..those kids are so cute!!
I love being a nurse just alot of "micromanagent" everywhere you go. I've also worked in oncology and the patients there really make you appreciate everything you've got. My DH loves the kids as they play for fun. When he does adults it's not the same.
GL with all your schooling. It is a long road. It took me 4 1/2 years and there were days I didn't think I'd make it. I prayed alot!!!
I graduated with my B.S. in Criminology and Criminal Justice this past December! Finally! Naturally though, I'm not working in that field right now, since we are planning to move in about a year. I'm currently walking and training dogs during the day, and petsitting at night. I may be starting a Masters program in the next year for a graduate degree in National Security Affairs. That depends a lot on whether I can get scholarships, etc., because we don't believe in debt.
DH is working on his B.S. in Computer Programming, a little under a year left to go, hopefully. He hates college with a passion. Once we move and he gets a "real job," I will be quitting mine. Our plan is for me to stay home and homeschool our kids. I'm also planning on doing some work-at-home stuff (like petsitting, train dogs, and write) to help with income. Once the kiddos are grown, I'll go be a federal LEO or a consultant, most likely.
Right now I'm a SAHM- I wanted to be home with my son during the years before preschool/kindergarten so I feel lucky that I have this opportunity. I will admit that being at home full time is a lot more work than I expected! lol
Before my SAHM-career , I was a medical secretary. I really enjoyed it but ultimately planned to return to school and become and RN (wanted to work n L&D or the NICU) and eventually a Midwife. I went to college for graphic design and education but left 1.5 shy of getting my degree (stupid choice!), so now I'm weighing the pros and cons of a few programs (RN, and art) in the area to see which I'd like to do.
I am a mechanical engineer and do diesel engine research for the Army. I am working on my PhD and love what I do but oh how I wish I could be a SAHM. DH is a commercial carpenter and as long as the economy is down I will be working full time. Oh well, such is life. I am very thankful to have a good job that is fairly flexible.
I've been a SAHM since May '11 and I LOVE IT!!!! DH works at a local car dealership detailing cars, and hopefully getting the assistant manager position soon! I have already went to school and finished my prerequites for Nursing but I didn't get in which was probably best because I would've had to start when DS was 3wks old! I am going to get my CNA's in 2wks then this fall I am starting everything to get my RN at the near by community college. I'm sooo nervous about going back to school and having DS because I just want to stay home with him but were wanting to get a house and stuff so that would require me to get a job too. If I don't get in the RN program (I'll know next March) then I am going to get a job as a CNA.
