No I'm not pregnant, but that would be the ONLY thing that would make me happier than I am now.
This last couple of months have been SUPER hard on me. DH has been working a lot, my body has been tricking me into thinking things I shouldn't, having a hard time dealing with being a step mom, family problems with my side of the family, and injuries from my fall down the stairs yesterday (I officially have a black eye LOL)
But DH has made all of that dissapear, because he planned the sweetest thing, and did this all without me finding out ANYTHING.
We got married a little more than 2 years ago, and had a VERY small ceremony, with just me him his kids, his mom and my grandma. I wore a dress from target....that's how small it was. We decided that we wanted to save our money to ttc right away, and did just that. We had planned to have a real wedding after our baby came. Well, it's been 2 years, and no baby. He knows how much I regret not having a wedding, and that I've dreamed of having a beautiful wedding just like every other girl in the world....can you tell where this is going??
Well, his family has been in town, so we have spent the last few days with them. He took today off from work so we could spend their last day all together. His mom and sister stayed with him, and they somehow convinced me to go with the kids, his brother and his wife to this tour in hollywood, even though I've been on it with every single family member who visits us but I went, because they seemed to want me to go with them SO BAD.
After getting a phone call, my BIL said that DH told him to meet him at a little cafe close by, which happened to be where me and him had our first date. I told them the whole story on the way there, and now that I know what was waiting for me I know why my BIL's wife was so excited about it.
We walk in, and my MIL had rented out the party section of the place, and when we walked into that section, I got a long speech, followed by DH on one knee, with a ring, asking me if we could have our real wedding this time around.
I instantly started crying, and even though we decided to keep ttc for a few more months before we start planning a wedding, I have SO many ideas and thoughts bouncing around in my head. I FINALLY get to have my wedding day, the way that I always wanted it. I've had the images of the wedding I want in my head since I was 10 years old....It's gonna be a breeze to plan because I know exactly what I want.
I'm so happy I could cry.
PS.
I'm IN LOVE with my new ring. My old one will be kept safe in the safe in the closet, but this one is PERFECT for me. It really shows how much better we know eachother after being married for two years.
Thankyou ladies.....he's not really a thoughtful, suprise, romantic type, so I know this took a lot for him. He always gets too frustrated and asks me to plan our date nights but now I know that's why his mom was in town.
Sweetest things he's ever done.
I'm OBSESSED with this ring, can't stop staring at it hahah.

Aww, that's SO sweet and romantic! What a wonderful DH you must have! :love: We had a similar wedding. It was on a beach, a friend presided, and we were in shorts and shirts, with only a few of my family members there. It was small and beautiful, but I know the feeling of wanting a big wedding. I'm SO happy for you!
Awww! This made me all teary eyed. That is so sweet! I can tell that he loves you with all his heart! You two are lucky to have each other.
The ring is beautiful, too! I'm so happy you get your big wedding! Have you picked a date?
P.S. Your DH should teach classes! That kind of romance is hard to come by. He needs to instruct the male population on how to woo a woman.
He's a sweetie alright....he's usually not this romantic, I really don't know what came over him.....except that he overheard me talking to my sister about being sad I didn't have a wedding. I didn't mean to hurt his feelings, but he must have took it to heart. Then, he calls mommy.....she can fix anything!! Hahaha he's such a momma's boy, and I'm pretty sure she planned the WHOLE thing, but it's cute that he had the origanal idea....he's gotten major points over this hahaha.
No date yet, but I'm thinking in summer....so probably not until next year. I want to have an outdoor wedding, so it has to be in the warmer months. He's given me full control, so everything is my choice and I'm SO excited hahahaha. I'm thinking rustic, southern/country theme....it's so me, and we live in LA so it's not super common. Ackkk. hahaha
