Hey everyone, I have a few questions! TMI warning~ lol

I stopped taking the pill in March after 3 years so we could TTC. I was on it to regulate AF-- I have *never* been regular without the pill.

But here's the thing. While on it, I'd get a light period every 28 days. After I stopped the pill in March, AF still came right on schedule. I was so happy thinking I was ready to start TTC, and started monitoring CM. I was pretty sure I was even able to tell when I od.

AF did come in April but was a bit late, at CD32... and CM this month has been ...wonky. Now I'm incredibly confused as to when to expect things to happen (when am i fertile, when do i O, when should I expect AF this month?)

DH and I have been BDing basically every night since AF stopped just in case, but what do you guys think? Should I split the difference and assume I O at CD30? Am I even O'ing this soon after the pill?

Sigh! any advice would be appreciated <3

Hello! I've never been on the pill so ill try my best to help but don't know if I can be much use! Your body might be still trying to work itself out, you've been on it three years so it might just need alittle more time to get back to normal pre say! Now that your off the pill and trying to concieve, it'll probably take three cycles of charting or so to know your cervical mucus and position routine(I could be completely wrong of course this is just what I've read! ) I've also heard taking prenatal vitamins while ttc is a good thing, you might want to start out them too! I hope you are successful and who knows, you might get pregnant right away even just coming off the pill it happens! Lots of sticky baby dust your way!!! Keep us updated!!! Good luck!!!

Hey there! Welcome! My guess is that your body is getting the pills out of your system. Normally it can take up to 6 months after getting off the pill before you get pregnant. Granted... that is not true for everyone. Since you do not have a regular cycle I would recomend bbt temping and watching your cm to help aid on when you o. I am not regular withoutthe pill either because I have PCOS so I have to chart and closely monitor cm to be able to determine if my body is trying to do anything or not. Best of luck to you!

Thank you, ladies! Since I posted, I did some research and it seems you're both right. I've already started prenatals (from when I stopped the pill in March) and hopefully I have some good luck! <3

Welcome!

Something to keep in mind is that the pill doesn't regulate your cycles. It stops you from ovulating, and then you stop taking it for a week (or take sugar pills) and have a "breakthrough" bleed. If you had irregular cycles before the pill, then it's likely that those issues are still there and it might take awhile to figure out when you are ovulating. Not impossible, just might take a little more work.

Check out fertilityfriend.com for some tutorials on charting (which I highly reccomend, especially if your cycles are screwy!) and possibly try some OPK's so that you can pinpoint when you're about to ovulate.

Good luck!

DH: Severe MFI (low counts, low motility, poor morphology and high antibodies), likely caused by poor liver function. Treated with Clomid to increase total counts.

Hi. Welcome! I also recommend an app for your phone such as Ovuwatch. Good luck and super baby dust to you!

I ditto fertility friend a very good tool to keep track of your cycles! also you might want to start BD every other day rather than everyday as doing it everyday can effect the quality of the sperm

Thank you so much everyone! I really appreciate the help and advice! I'll def. check out that charting website! ...What's funny is that I have a feeling our trying may have actually taken this month. I really don't want to get my hopes up yet! But, I do need to ask now... do any of you know anything about (or has anyone experienced) implantation bleeding? (I will most likely cross post this new question into a new thread also) Thanks again ladies!!
