So I decided this month I wasn't going to do OPK's because it stresses me out a little. I figured if DH and I just had fun and BD when we wanted (which it's usually every other day or so anyway!) Well yesterday I got home from work and decided to do an opk. Well it game out with a smiley face. I was suprised because I shouldn't be ovulated for another week or so according to last months cycle length. So, I took the stick out and the lines were all smeared and weird. So I figured it was just a bad test. Of course, me being an addict, I did an ic opk later after supper and it wasn't fully positive but it is close. The control line was just a smidge darker than the test line. So now I suppose I will have to take one tonight and see what I get. Kind of wierd. If I do ovulate in the next few days my cycle will be WAY shorter than last month!

**Well came home after work and did the opk and negative. So I am guessing that I caught my surge yesterday. I guess this month I am ovulating about 10 days sooner. Good thing I did that opk yesterday!

I noticed that the IC opks were negative when my digi opk was positive. I got a smiley face on cd 13 last cycle but IC opk was negative, then I O'ed on cd 14 and my digi opk was still smiley face and finally the IC opk was positive too. So I would trust the digi at this point. Bd tonight and tomorrow night for sure, hope you catch the egg!

Here is the link to my tests from last cycle, you can see how light the opk was even though my digi was bfp.

I always found OPKs so confusing! One reason we used the fertility monitor for #2 and using it again for #3. Great if you don't mind the extra expense. But if you're DTD every other day I agree you probably don't need it! But nice if you want to be sure.

Yeah, this is why I love OPK's. When cycles are irregular it's nice to have a heads up. Have you noticed any EWCM or anything? Plus remember your body can gear up (get pretty close) and then back down. Do you temp? Just asking to see if you would be able to confirm with temp rise

I don't know much about the smiley face OPK/monitors but I agree OPK's can be frustrating and stressful.

It can be normal to ovulate at different times each cycle...so maybe this month the little eggy was just really really excited to meet the sperm

OH MY GOODNESS! I was just reading my original post and boy oh boy did I make some grammatical errors! Sorry. I am at work and try to type fast so no one catches me! Obviously...I need to pay a little more attention to what I am doing!

I am going to take another OPK tonight after work and see how that turns out. I am gonna go ahead and use a digital and ic just to see how different the lines are tonight.
