Hey everyone! Some back story before I ask my question! (Sorry if you've seen some of this in other threads before!)
I'm 26 and only on month 2 of TTC after the pill (I was on it for 3 years). From feedback I've gotten from wonderful ladies on here, I realize that this not an easy task! I've learned a lot from you all, and taken a lot of advice to heart, so thank you!
Before the pill, AF was erratic, but not terrible-- 26 to 34 days. While *on* the pill, my periods were ALWAYS 28 days apart. Now, after I stopped it, my March-April cycle was 32 days.
Now, I know coming off the pill can throw lots of things off. That said, I am pretty sure I ovulated during that first post-pill 32 day cycle (bc even though I haven't started temp charting, I have been paying close attention to CM.)
This month I *still* haven't started charting. But, DH and I have been just having fun with it. We're BDing every night since AF, hoping to catch an egg whenever it decides to drop. We've been using Preseed and instead cups to help our chances. (More just mommies wisdom! thanks!)
***Now the odd part/question.****
I noticed that my CM was pretty dried up a few days before I was assuming I was going to o. I was running on the assumption that my cycles were going to be 30 days or longer.
BUT! Today I experienced something that confused me-- blood. This is CD22 for me. I did a little "period math" and realized that if I'm in the middle of a 28 day cycle, I'm probably 7 or 8dpo. And that makes sense with when my CM dried. So... it technically could be implantation bleeding.
I did a little reading, and I'm still fuzzy... implantation bleeding is supposed to be "light spotting", but what exactly does that mean? I mean, I used to refer to my on-the-pill periods as "spotting". Are we talking no panty-liner necessary, just some pink blood when going to the bathroom? Or is it a day long thing?
(TMI-- What I had was a drop or two's worth of fresh blood in last night's instead cup that I removed this morning. There was a little pink blood when I wiped, and that's it. Nothing else the rest of the day. No liner, nothing.)
I wanted to ask if anyone here has definitely experienced implantation bleeding in the past, and can tell me what it's actually like (or has thoughts for me!). I don't want to get my hopes up for nothing, and if I *am* 7dpo, it's still early for a pregnancy test!
Sounds very promising! That would be perfect timing for IB!
There is such a wide range of normal. Some women have heavier bleeding that lasts for a few days or have barely-there spotting that lasts for just an hour or two. IB can manifest in many different ways.
IB is usually very light pink or brown spotting. Sometimes you only see it when you wipe and other times you might need a light liner to catch any... strays. Yeesh. Sorry for that phrasing.
What you've got going on sounds like classic IB to me, though! Are you going to test in few days or wait and see if AF shows?
When I got pregnant with Emma I had the same thing happen. I think it was 1 week exact before AF was due for me. I wiped and noticed brownish discharge. I was so upset thinking AF was showing up. I spotted ALOT after getting off the pill. But the bleeding only happened that day. Then nothing.... which was weird. I decided to test the day after I was due for my period and BAM bfp! Good luck

Thank you Vicki.... for my beautiful siggie!!!
Like the other ladies said, IB can be different for everyone. I had it with DD, but it was just a streak of blood mixed with EWCM.
It's also possible though that it's O spotting. Not trying to be a downer, just something to think about. I'd get busy regardless. Firstly, because if it is O, then you've got a good chance. Secondly, if it is AF showing up early because of the BCP, then you're probably going to be off sex for a couple of days anyways, so you might as well get some while you can
Wow, i was honestly expecting a different response! I guess I'm just trying not to be too optimistic so I don't get too bummed out if I end up with a BFN. I'm not 100% sure when I should test because I don't know what day I would be considered late. ...What do you guys think? Should I continue assuming it's a 28 day cycle and test a week from today?
If you're using regular tests (like FRER, digital tests, Answer etc...) and you don't think you have any issues that would need to be addressed right away, then I'd wait at least a week. If you've got cheapies (online orders, or dollar store tests) then by all means, test in 3 days (because if it's IB it should show up in 3 days as a BFP!) but it all depends on how patient you are
And my vote is still for having sex. But that's just because I think it's fun. (Most of the time anyways!)
Hopefully it is IB and you get a BFP in a couple of days!!!
Muffin-- I had that thought too! I was sorta still waiting for signs of impending O. I thought that my CM drying last weekend was just post-pill strangeness, and that it would come back and I would O on the 10th or 11th. ...It didn't come back. After this morning, I kinda connected the dots, and noticed that, yeah... that odd patch could be post O.
But, the operative words are "could be." So, until I see AF or a BFP, we're going to keep BDing every night!
And yep, I have a bunch of ICs I can't wait to use. I'll keep you guys updated! Thanks again!
