I have been reading about Robitussin and how it can increase your CM. My question is which kind of Robitussin do I buy? I was at the store today because I had to stock up on my ovulation & pregnancy test supplies and I saw quite a few different Robitussin...like CM, DM, ETC. So which one do I need?

Also when should I start taking it? I am on cycle day 2

Yup, it's the plain Robitussin. (No letters or anything after it) Conversely, you can buy guafenesin tablets, which means you don't have to chug sticky cough syrup. Just make sure to drink lots of water with them!

^ Was going to say the same thing. Definitely no letters, and none of the mulit-symptom products. I've never used it for helping my CM, but I definitely prefer the tablets, because the syrup is awful!

You can't get tablets over here

Tried the syrup fora few cycles and it made no real difference. TBH

I suffer with never having experienced EWCM

I start about 4-5 days before I'm supposed to O. It takes a couple of days for it to build up in your system, so don't worry if you don't see a difference right away. I just take the reccomended dose on the bottle. I think it's 1 tablet every 6 hours or something?

Just the word Robitussin makes me nauseous - haha, it tastes so gross! My mother had to chase me around the house as a kid to get that stuff down my throat. I would definitely take the tablets over the syrup

Ok, I have looked in several stores and I can't seem to find just plain robitussin anywhere! Does anyone know just where I can find it?

I found this on amazon, but not sure if this is what I need

mucinex has works the same, just as long as the only ingredient is the guaifenesin...it is higher strength too, seems to work better. fertill cm really helped me too though, seriously!

Yeah, any product that has guaifenesin as the only ingredient should be ok.

You can get mucinex tablets or a knock off brand. Take the recommended dosage. I will say that it didn't really help me at all, but then I didn't have much fertile CM to speak of, so thinning non fertile mucus didn't help. GL and I hope it works for you!

Hi, I hope sharing my story with you will help! I've been lurking on here for months. Yesterday, at what I think was 8 dpo, I got 3 blaring bfps (ICs and FRER)! I'm pretty convinced that a big factor in getting those bfps was taking Mucinex. I had bronchitis, so I wasn't taking it for TTC purposes, yet it seems to have worked for just that! I took one every 12 hours with a TON of water.

I also am on my second month of Vitex, which has been a godsend. I had normal cycles (extra long lp, though), but knew I was estrogen dominant because I would get cystic acne and fibrocystic breasts and have epic mood swings. I took it to even things out hormonally and it worked within a few weeks (not the three months that most say it needs). If you think you may be estrogen dominant, I HIGHLY recommend Vitex.

I am hoping so hard for you! I "know" so many of you from lurking and, though I haven't posted here before, you were all such a comfort to me on my journey TTCing. I am sending baby dust to you all!

I tried the medication but it didn't work well for me in the cm department, but what did work was preseed, it mimics ewcm. I also did the sperm meets the egg plan and stayed in bed after dtd (after + opk). 9 days later I had my sticky bfp. Hope you see your bfp soon.
