It is so insanely hard for me to get a consistent time of day to temp. I ALWAYS have to get up to pee sometime between 3 and 5am. If I temp at 3, I may have only been asleep for 3 or so hours, if I temp at 5, that is fine, but I will likely wake up the next day at 3 to pee. Should I just start setting my alarm for 3am to temp then? I have heard you shouldn't really temp in the middle of the night.

My temps are so all over the place, and I am only on CD11. I don't think they are supposed to vary as much as mine have so far. I am using OPK's and checking CM, but honestly, I am wondering if this is going to end up being an anovulatory cycle with how wonky things look so far, or if it is my wacky sleep cycles.

Any advice?

I got this; "If you have to get up in the night and it is unavoidable, like having to take care of a small child, or if you have to go to the bathroom, just do the best you can. Take your temperature as close as you can to the same time each morning and choose a time that is likely to be when you have had the most sleep. For example, if your toddler wakes up every morning at 6 am, then take your temperature at that time, even if you go back to sleep. Try to avoid taking your temperature in the middle of the night, though, even if you seem to always get up at the same time in the middle of the night. Temperatures taken in the morning show a clearer biphasic curve and the time is more predictable."

That being said, I know my son wakes up anywhere from 4-6 AM so I set my alarm and temp at 4. My temps have been a bit jumpy too, but I am still able to see when I ovulated. (it was CD21, just waiting for FF to confirm)

My pre-ovulation temps can range quite a bit as well. Especially if I am temping orally. Just keep temping and you might see a pattern develop and a coverline and temp shift after ovulation. I felt the same way but did get the temp change after ovulation.

I think you chart looks good. I think it will be a clear thermal shift. If you look in ff gallery at erratic temps there are worse ones. X

I have read the above quote too, but I wonder if I am getting accurate temps, especially my really high one. There really is never a time when I consistently have gotten the most sleep and take it at the same time every morning. If I did that, I would occasionally have already gotten up to use the bathroom. I can't figure out if I should just temp when I wake up, set the alarm, or temp at the same time. I know ideally it should be all of the above, but unfortunately, it just can't be.

I also wonder what on earth my cover line will be. I have an entire degree's worth of variance in my chart already. Sigh...
