I caved and ordered some OPKs! I was going to try the first month with just temping and other fertility signs, but go big or go home right?

I should get them tomorrow, which is CD 11! I usually dont O until CD 25ish though. So my question is, when should I start using the OPKs? And then, when I get a positive (which I understand is ONLY when the line is as dark or darker than the control line), does that mean I am getting ready to O or already Oed? Do I BD up until I get a positive or up to and after as well? Asking the experts!

Thanks ladies!!

Well as soon as you get your OPK's i would start testing once a day....once the line gets darker then twice a day until positive. When you get a positive post a pic so we can see

As far as BDing. I would BD every other day until positive then everyday until thermal shift. When you get a +OPK it just means it detects a surge so you can O anywhere from 24 to 48 hours after the + somtimes the day of sometimes even up to 3 days after (it has happened to me) So its best to temp to make sure you are Oing and when. Good Luck

Do you get any CM? I would start maybe when it's sticky to creamy.

Hmm so you think I should start testing right away? I dont want to waste them, but then again, it might help me feel productive

I pretty much have CM all cycle long, so it's hard to tell (sorry )

Well if you have like strechy clear egg white type CM that's the most fertile which you would have around the time you O. So I would pay attention to the changes in the consistency of it. Like if its watery, thick, or sticky. It will change through out your cycle. I know fertility friend tells you what is fertile and what is not. I would try charting with them to help you track you CM. If that makes sense.

Thanks ladies! I will definitely keep up the BDing every other day and then everyday once I get a positive! And I will post pics of the OPKs

I am charting my CM but I have trouble distinguishing the type...to me, it all seems so simliar! Maybe once I have a positive OPK I can determine what THAT CM looks like to compare to CM of the rest of the month!

I probably will start testing today, just because I am impatient and a control freak! Does it have to be FMU? Sorry for all the questions!

Don't do FMU with OPK's or at least that what I was told by all the ladies on here. I would test SMU but do it like the same time every day I think.

And as far as CM, I know what you mean by it all seems similar. My does too but once you track it for a while you will start to see very little changes. Or you might not have enough. I know at first I didn't and then I double the amount of just filtered water I drank and it started to get better. So maybe you need more water to have that good fertile CM you know?
