Hi ladies,

My girlfriend had an uh oh Saturday night. She had a + opk that day...tested bc of AF issues...then the guy didn't pull out even though he knew it wasn't safe. She took another OPK Sunday and it was negative. She intended on getting the morning after pill yesterday but by the time she got to CVS the pharmacy was closed. All the pharmicies were closed. She is freaking out. Very fertile. We have been reading up on the morning after pill and studies are saying that it helps by preventing ovulation but not implantation...pretty much saying that if you have ovulated, then it's not really going to help. Does anyone have experience with this???

It doesn't prevent ovulation and you can take it up to 120 hours after unprotected sex for it to be effective.

Probably a good idea to invest in birth control or condoms if she's worried about it in future too.

Good luck!!

The only experience I have with the morning after pill is a good friend of mine took it after an oops and is now 4 months pregnant! Sorry if that is not the news she wanted to hear, but Ive heard/read that it is not very effective anyways. I would still think she would want to take it if she is not trying to get pregnant! Good luck to your friend!

If she does not want to get pregnant she needs to high tail it CVS again and get the morning after pill. It can be taken 3-4 days after unprotected sex but it works better the sooner it is taken.

Also, she may not want to be fooling around with a guy who says he is going to pull out and then not. That is so not cool.

And the pull out method is not 100% so BCP or condoms may be a wise investment for her.

Hope she doesn't get pregnant and it all works out well.
