I may have O'd, but I have no idea!! I can't temp today because I am sick and can't breathe through my nose. I am a major mouth breather right now and it's messing up my temp! Anything I can do?? This is such an important temp for me

I would still take it at the time you normally do but just leave the circle open

I temped but it was after only 2 hours of sleep and my mouth was open while I was temping because I can't hold my breath for that long lol

Would it totally mess me up if I temped vaginally? Is that temp usually significantly different than oral temps?

To me vaginal temping is WAY more accurate because of the fact you are temping at the source. There are so many factors when it comes to oral temping: sleeping with mouth opened, coughing, sneezing, etc.

Everywhere I read says not switch in the cycle the method of temping but maybe just do it to compare?

what was your temp after only 2 hours of sleep?

It was 97.25... I went ahead and did vaginally too and it was 98.08. Yesterday after 4 hours of sleep it was 98.24. So I really have no clue. I'll probably go back to sleep last since I haven't slept much since I worked last night... Then I'll redo it. I hate this! I need this temp lol

Vaginally will be about a full degree higher than oral temps so yeah it will dramatically effect your chart to switch midcycle. If you do temp vaginally subtract one degree from whatever you get but leave the circle open.

So the 97.25 is probably closer... Which gives me my 4th low temp!! My OPK was 3 days ago. I'm worried :/

Temping became such a hassel after a while. I used it for about half a year to confirm that I was really ovulating but once I knew that I found it pretty useless. I always get AF 14 days after a + ovulation test so that is good enough for me.

I guess temping is good for you now since you are coming off birth control so you can see when you finally ovulate. If it becomes too much stress than don't worry about it and just use your ovulation tests. Most people who get + ovulation test are also ovulating.

It is stressful!! especially for me because I never get to temp at the same time. If I just went off OPKs and CM I wouldn't be stressed lol

I hope so! It's possible I had one today, but I really wouldn't know because I've been awake for about 28 hours lol....I took a 2 hour restless nap earlier and temped after that, but I left the circle open because I don't trust it much

if you are temping at all differant times than don't temp at all because your results will be completely inaccurate and just confuse you more. You must temp approx the same time each day with approx same # hours of sleep for it to be accurate. I have found that if I wake up in the middle of night and than go back to sleep the results are still accurate. What effected my results most was taking the temp more than an hour or 2 later than usual. There is a formula where you add so much degrees for every hour you wake up later than usual but I forget what it is. I know it is in the book Taking charge of your fertility.
