My bridal shower is tomorrow and 1 of my bridesmaid just texted me and said that she won't be able to come because she went to her doctors with really bad pain and has to have her gallbladder out tomorrow... it just doesn't seem like she's telling the truth and I'm really upset about it I don't know why she would lie though... the whole thing doesn't make sense to me... if shes lying thats really messed up and I dont understand her reasoning...just had to vent..

Ya my sister called the place she said she was getting it done...they dont do surgery on the weekends I cant believe she would lie like seriously why

That was my first thought as well. Who has surgery on a Saturday unless its an emergency? If it were an emergency, why wouldn't she be having it out today? I'm so sorry that you're having to go through this.

Ya idk why she would do this all I can think of is that she doesnt have the money to give to my mom for the shower and that whatever she had to do for shower she wasnt prepared..but seriously grow up and take care of it..makes me so upset and mad!

This is a bit odd to say (and I would sort of freak if this is the same person but I doubt it is) but I have a friend that is supposed to be co-hosting a bridal shower tomorrow, but is having to miss out of it due to personal issues she is dealing with right now, and something big happening tomorrow morning and she is having to lie for now until she can talk about it.


I suppose what I'm saying is sure she may be lying but just go with the flow because you never know if that person is having a personal issue to tend too and isnt ready to expose it just yet.

I'm sort of curious if we know the same person because this is a bit freaky for me right now so I dont want to say to much.

tell her you want to come and check on her after the shower ask her where she is having it done that you will visit her in "hospital" or ask her to see the scar in case you ever have to have it done that way if she is lying at least you will know but be careful not to ruin a friendship in case she is telling the truth. . . . .

Sometimes people do not like that attention is being taken off of them. She maybe in a situation that needs privacy OR she may just be someone who is desperately trying to look for attention in all the wrong places. I do not know her personally, of course, but if you feel you need to talk to her, then I would. If you have been friends for a long time I would hate for something to break it up.

My best friend of like 10 years lied to me once about something off the wall crazy. She was hiding something and thought the lie would cover it up better....Needless to say I sat her down and told her how outrageous it was....came to find out her husband was having an affair and she was meeting with her divorce lawyer. She was so angry and ashamed at the same time. Once I knew the truth, I understood. I just wish she had come to me in the first place...

I am sorry that she is trying to back out for whatever reason. It is just ridiculous that she would lie about having to have surgery. You can say something to her if you want to.Personally I wouldn't let it bother me any further and just remind myself that today is my day to enjoy myself. Have a great day tomorrow!!!
