Since I didnt really have AF for years because of IUD I dont know if this is normal now that I'm back having cycles. I've noticed a pattern. I tend to spot for 3-5 days before AF comes full force. Is that normal? Anyone else have spotting as a pre-sign that AF is on her way??

It's never happened to me, a few days before I just act like a horrible crazy woman.

I'm not sure if it's just because I'm no longer on BC and my body is still regulating but I'll give it a few more cycles before I talk to DR about it. I wouldnt have even known it if I wasnt checking cm, it's not all day long either only like a drop or 2 when I check cm/cp so I suppose it's not technically "spotting" but that's how I explain it.

I spotted for three days before one AF I had this winter... It was my third cycle off Nuva ring, so I'm not sure if it could be related?

I do, every cycle that I'm not on bc It started after I had DS2. It was fine while I was bf, then when he weaned at 13 months my cycles got funky. They are 23-27 days long now and I ALWAYS spot for about 5 days before af arrives. I went on bc from april 2012-dec 2012 and it regulated them and I didn't spot, but the first cycle off bc this past jan I started the spotting again. I'm actually really concrened about it and am going to make an appt to see my ob after this cycle if we don't catch the eggie.

I had spotting before AF for 9 months after stopping BCP! Hopefully it's not a long term thing for you and it sorts itself out soon

I normally do spot for a day before AF finally arrives. You can just discuss to ur Doctor. But doesn't look like a serious problem.
