I used to always temp at 6:50 (when I get up) but I was getting up randomly between 5:30 and 6:30 so my temps were off at times. So once AF came I changed my time to 5am. So now I set my alarm for 5, take temp and go back to sleep.

My temps are SUPER low now that they are taken at 5am. Is that normal??

I think so. I used to have the same thing. DH gets up at 5 for work, I'd roll over and go back to sleep and then take it around 7 when I got up, and the temperatures varied wildly. When I started taking them when he got up at 5, they evened out and were just really low across the board. So I think as long as you're being consistent, it should be fine.
