...but I had a question and this board moves much faster than the WTTC board.
We will be TTCing in about 3 months or so (at which time I'll join ). I got my first post-partum AF in April. My 8.5 month old son still wakes up all night long. He usually sleeps anywhere between 2-3 hour stretches (sometimes less, rarely more).
Is it possible to start temping and have it accurate? When TTCing him, we just based it on my temps and got lucky (1st cycle of trying, 2nd cycle of recording temps). I want to starting temping now so I have an idea of things since my cycles probably won't be regular by the time we start trying.
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I know the rule is 3 hours and you're good. Even if you don't get 3 hours I would still start charting now. Try to take it the same time daily even if you was up 2 hours before you take it. I would think you would be able to see some type of pattern even with rocky temps. Also charting cp/cm would help in case your times are wacky you have those to help too. Also Welcome to this board
We aren't currently TTC either, but I chart and BF and we wake frequently at night too. I also work night shift. I think your body has probably had time to adjust to his frequent wakings and you should be able to try to temp and get consistent temps. You can at least try. Mine are still a bit weird, but I think its more from the BFing itself, not the temp timing and stuff. Meaning my hormones are still regulating cause I see like waves of my temp changes. I'll be up for like 3 days, then down for 3-4 days. :/
I agree with Blakesgirl, I wake up frequently (either because of my 2 year old or because I just sleep horridly) and still chart. I get a fairly accurate reading each time, I've only had one ever seem off. I'd start now to get a good idea and reading
When we started TTCing, Ella was getting up a few times a night and it was really difficult but even with our not so perfect sleeping pattern I was still able to get an idea of what was going on. I also started using OPKs since that wasn't so dependant on Ella's schedule. It helped. Like some of the other awesome ladies said tracking cp and cm (especially cm), helps. Good Luck Jessica, I can't wait to see you get that BFP!
Yes I agree with the above, it's more important that you take it the same time each morning.
I have heard that with things like this it might look weird but will just take you a bit longer to interrupt. I think knowledge is power
Oh and don't forget CP & CM
