So I'm having a terrible time with seasonal allergies now... My allergies turned into an infection which my dr. gave me antibiotics for. She also told me to take Allegra D to help. I told her DH and I are ttc, and she said the antibiotics are fine to take as long as I'm not pregnant now (which I'm not).
I was reading about Allegra D online, and some people say it may hurt chances of conceiving because it basically dries everything up, including CM. I just wanted some opinions from you ladies as to whether or not this is true? I haven't really been temping this cycle because I've been sick, but I'm on CD 11 and the last 2 cycles I've O'd on CD 14. I haven't taken any Allegra D yet, but i was going to today because i cant stabd it anymore! But now I'm not sure if I should take it.
What do you guys think?

It might dry stuff up a bit so maybe you could try countering it with some EPO and maybe some preseed? I guess it's better than getting too miserable to DTD

I agree with what Elissa posted. Is there any way you can take just regular Allegra and not have to take the one with the decongestant in it?? I have awful allergies and take just regular Allegra. If I notice I am still stuffy I will take some Mucinex that helps thin out the mucous not affect TTC.

Since I posted my original question in the car on the way to vacation, plus we're with another couple and all I had with me was my Allegra D I took it. I didn't have an opportunity to try preseed or anything else, but I didn't want my infection to affect my vacation or my enjoyment of BD-ing I feel muuuuch better now! The timing stinks because I'm pretty sure I O'd yesterday (on CD 14), so I was taking Allegra D through ovulation. I didn't bother temping this cycle because I had been sick abd my temps were wacky, but the last 2 cycles I O'd on CD 14, and yesterday was CD 14 abd I had O pains.
At least we've been very relaxed and BD'ing a lot so all I can do now is keep my fingers crossed! I'm going to stop the Allegra D since I feel better now, and I don't want to take it during the tww just in case!
Thanks for your advice ladies!

I take a lot of allergy medicine for my hives. It does dry you out a little but not too bad. Allergra D is not as bad as this other stuff my doctor prescribed me for my hives.
I think if you had the chance to catch your eggy taking the allergra D for a few days won't hinder your chances too much. But if you need to keep taking definitely get EPO. It has helped me sooo much with producing EWCM even when I take my allergy meds. Good luck sweetie!

I would stay away from it. Check out this link, it says allergy medications can interfere with ovulation: Which Medicines Could Affect Your Chances of Getting Pregnant? - Conceive Online
