Hello Ladies!

To my surprise this morning at work I got af....very saddened by the news, since my af was 4 days late (what a tease) and I had very similar symptoms. I actually went to the OBGYN to get checked for miscarriage but they refuse to do ANYTHING until we have tried for a year or more! So needless to say I wasted money going....I even asked to get hormones tested, nope! So this cycle I am going to try something new...I am going to continue using OPKs and PreSeed this coming cycle (our 10th cycle) but I am actually going to see a holistic doctor to regulate my hormones using natural products! Has anyone ever consulted a holistic doctor? I would love to do this instead of fertility treatments! So we will see....

That seems kind of ridiculous that your dr wouldn't do any tests for you. I made mine do the CD3 blood work/uterine ultrasound right away because I didn't want to try and try and try without success if it was an easy fix that we could have taken care of from the start. I'm on cycle 11 of active ttc and cycle 14 of ntnp and I've already had the test I mentioned, LH tested to make sure I ovulate, an HSG, and DH had a sperm analysis. It's your body - you should be able to do what you want with it. ANYWAY...since all of my tests have come back normal, I've been thinking about this as well. I work with a nurse who was previously an infertility specialist and she SWEARS by acupuncture and chinese herbs. I haven't really looked into it yet but she said she has seen miracles happen with the aid of these 2 things.

I haven't been to one, but I wouldn't be opposed at all. When I was having trouble TTC #1 I used wild yam roll-on and I got pregnant the second month on it (after having a drastic change in my periods beginning with the first month). I think the natural stuff is better for our bodies and more effective than medical doctors want to give credit.

What is wil yam roll on? Gonna have to google that one!

I'm in my second cycle,TTC after two of NTNP. I'm not sure if its a Canadian thing or,what, but most drs in Canada will not look at you until TTC for minimum one full year. I find this absurd and a horrible waste of people's time. But I'll save that rant for another day.

I am making an appointment with a naturopath when AF comes. She's not due till Friday but I feel very cramps and as though she is on her way. I'm hoping for a herbal supplement regimen that will help me out.

I'll post how it goes when I find out! Keep us posted on your situation and good luck!

Anna - Mexican yam is pretty well known as a natural progesterone. I bought it at Syringa Providers of hygiene and health products for women and it was the Balance roll on. Once a day I would roll it on my inner thigh or under my arm (not my arm pit, but under my bicep?) I just remember that my cycles got shorter, I ovulated sooner, and my PMS symptoms were very mild.

Hi! I'm Em, popping in from TTC#1 Board.

I just made my first appointment with an acupuncture and natural healing therapist myself. It's been almost 7 weeks since I went off of Mirena IUD, no period and a few BFNs. I'm hoping she can help get my cycle back on track as I'd like to avoid traditional medical intervention (my doc would likely put me on Provera).

So I decided to make an appointment for that and a few other non-TTC related things, although one is sort of (chronic sinusitis that I have to use Flonase daily for, really don't want to have to use if she can help with that).

I'll keep you posted on what she says/does! I hope it's useful.

Hello all! Anna I hear ya on the doctors not helping....I went thinking I possibly had a miscarriage due to a late and very heavy period and I went to the doctors, they thought I was nuts for coming in and refuse to do tests until we have been ttc for over a year! I can not wait to regulate my hormones!

Girlsofsummer, do you have a juicer?

I have some fairly chronic sinus issues and I find that making a juice called Splendid Spinach (just google it with + juice recipe) ALWAYS clears my sinuses like an hour after drinking it.

Handy if you have a juicer, not so much if you're without, but I thought I would mention it! Good luck!
